On May 10, 2026, the Duchess of Edinburgh attended the parade and service of the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association in Hyde Park, London. The event, organized by the Combined Cavalry Old Comrades Association, commemorates members of the UK and Commonwealth cavalry regiments who fell in the First World War and subsequent conflicts.
Both serving and former soldiers of the Regular Cavalry and Yeomanry regiments marched in the parade. Representatives from the Commonwealth countries of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and South Africa also attended. The Duchess then attended an open-air service at the Bandstand conducted by Chaplain General Reverend Michael Parker.
Emilia Wickstead Kalonice Wrap Coat Dress

borrowed her husband's hat, cute but looks big on her small head.
ReplyDeleteCharlene wore the green version of this dress
Borrowed Catherine’s dress
DeleteAnother outfit that needs to be shortened by 6 inches. Look at the model.

DeleteYes, we can repeat it eternally, as long as she does not see it herself all her clothes will stay like this.
yes these dresses are designed for tall ladies not petit. thats why they look good on Catherine and Charlene
DeleteTrue
DeleteThe coat in itself is nice and elegant, but neither the style, nor the colour of the hat is a good combination. Some blue shades go stunningly well with some brown shades. But this blue does not go well with this brown, there is too much red+yellow in this brown shade to go well with this blue. Dark brown with a high proportion of dark grey would be nice, the lighter the blue, the darker the brown. - Some women have it (we saw it today with Benedicte's dusty pink coat), this lovely Duchess does not have it ...
ReplyDeleteI had the same reaction, that these particular shades of blue and brown just do not work together. It’s a shame, because imo this outfit could have hit it out of the park with a more harmonious color scheme 🙁. — Jane
DeleteI think the hat and coat tone very well. Could be your screen resolution.
DeleteNo, No, not our screen resolution. The hat looks more to wear in the cold season. The brown is almost red copper. The shoes are a bit lighter but not much and the envelope bag is almost dark beige. Like always Duchess Sophie's accessories are not well chosen.
DeleteI like the wrap coat dress, style, fit and color. Not liking the color of her hat at all nor her shoe and bag color. The brooch looks interesting, lovely to see her wear one.
ReplyDeleteDoesn’t she look tiny against those men? Very sweet. Classic dressing, just lovely.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely. Like the coat and color.

I am impressed with this outfit. It is very suitable for the occasion and is not giving a matchy matchy vibe which I feel would be too formal for this event.
ReplyDeleteMatching colors are not only to be worn when formality is asked. I am not going to wear the wrong colors of hat and shoes even if I do not have to be dressed formal. Matching colors have nothing to do with formality but everything with good or bad taste.
DeleteThis feels like an almost good ensemble. Love the idea of a blue coat with brown accessories, but these two tones don’t mesh together. And the hat is too large and not the right level of formality with a tailored wool coat.
ReplyDeleteThe coat on the model seems different to me. DoE's coat looks wider, the collar is different and like always bad proportions because the coat is too long for her height.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do have reservations about the coat (not flared enough to balance the hat) and the shoes, I adore this hat and would wear it myself. Sophie's fedoras always inspire me. Lyra
ReplyDeleteManteau trop long et chapeau de feutre en mai? Josée.
ReplyDeleteWe saw this stunning coat before, was it Catherine? I donot understand the hat at all: more for a country outing, not for a combination with this tender coloured coat.
ReplyDeleteSophie looks great, the whole outfit suits her.(Tara)
ReplyDeleteI don't like the coat, hate the hat, and don't know why brown shoes keep appearing with blue and black and white. Just white but the others rarely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful coat dress ( yes too long) in a for Sophie beautiful.colour. The hat looks great too and in colour a very good match with the coat dress
ReplyDeleteCette robe-manteau est très élégante mais comme souvent, le bât blesse au niveau de la longueur ; à mon avis, avec ce modèle de chapeau légèrement plus petit et de couleur camel, son look serait bien meilleur !
ReplyDeleteI’m sure Princess Charlene has this same coat dress in dark green. The difference in the two ladies is height. A taller woman can wear this length. Sophie needs her whole closet shortened to just below the knee. As she wears them now, spoils the look. She has a great figure, she should wear clothes that highlight this, not wrap herself in sways of unnecessary fabric.
ReplyDeleteThe hat doesn’t help the look. A fedora type hat is fine at country events. It’s as if two styles are battling it out.
Lowri.
Sophie looks fabulous. Love the tailoring of the coat. Accessories are good. Tan, as most know, goes with almost every colour but especially blue.
