Queen Mathilde of Belgium is leading the Belgian Economic Mission to Türkiye. On May 11, 2026, Queen Mathilde attended the official Belgian reception held at Swissôtel The Bosphorus in Istanbul. The Queen delivered a speech at the reception. For the occasion, Queen Mathilde wore a red dress by the Belgian fashion house Natan. The Queen first wore the dress during Belgium’s National Day celebrations.

ردحذفThe red lace looks better than the white lace worn previously. This is a good choice for an evening event. Evening gowns should be more elaborate. The off the shoulder style and A-line skirt is flattering on Mathilde. The red colour is striking.

ردحذفQueen Mathilde is wearing another red dress during this economic mission. Queen Mathilde often does diplomatic dressing. The red is the major color in the Turkish flag. Not visible on the pictures is her red clutch by Fabienne Delvigne, Belgian hat maker who also makes clutches and headbands. She attached a piece of red lace on the red clutch, very original. I think QM's hair does not look bad at all. For 2 days the queen probably did not ask her hairstylist to come to Istanbul with her. Maybe she found a hairdresser there or it is the work of her personal assistant. The Belgians can be proud of their beloved Queen. She accomplished her first economic mission very well. I've heard that on the first evening a lot of business contracts has been signed between Belgium and Türkiye (apparently the new way to write Turkey). She is the perfect host on these gatherings between 2 countries.
