On May 23, 2026, Princess Kako of Akishino and Prince Hisahito of Akishino visited the special exhibition “160th Anniversary of Japan-Belgium Friendship — The History of Artistic and Intellectual Exchange” at the Kokugakuin University Museum in Shibuya, Tokyo. This year marks the 160th anniversary since Japan and Belgium concluded the Treaty of Amity, Commerce, and Navigation in 1866.
The exhibition introduces the history of exchanges between the two countries from both perspectives, with “beauty” and “knowledge” as its central themes. It is presented through items from Belgian diplomatic archives, the national collection of Belgium, as well as the collection of Kokugakuin University.

They look lovely
ReplyDeleteWow! Kako looks great!
ReplyDeleteAnyway I am always happy to see her!
Le prince Hisahito devient aussi charmant que sa soeur Kako - Quel magnifique vase un peu trop imposant à mon goût !

Hisahito est tellement beau!!
DeleteWhat a fresh, modern look! The white pantsuit is lovely and perfect for spring. It also fits her well. The turquoise accessories are a great choice, and even though I´d prefer a longer leg, the cropped length does showcase the shoes well.
ReplyDelete11:27 exactly my position on cropped pants: I don’t really like them and prefer them longer but they showcase shoes well.
DeleteI agree the pant alittle longer would be better balanced, or a flat shoe.
DeleteLove the outfit of the princess; especially the handbag, earrings and shoes. Great combination.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit of the princess; especially the shoes, earrings and handbag. Great combination!!
ReplyDeleteLater on (I think by the end of June) the Emperor and the Empress will go on a state visit to the Netherlands (they are very close friends with the Dutch King and Queen), and from there travel to Belgium, too. With state dinners! So nice to see the siblings Princess Kako and Prince Hisahito doing a joined outing. The princess looks particularly lovely here.
ReplyDeletePrincess Kako is the best dressed Japanese princess. The pants are a little too short. The turquoise accessories are gorgeous with the white suit.
ReplyDelete彼女の胸元にシャープなシルバーのブローチを、腕にはバングルがあれば、もっと素敵だと思います。
ReplyDeleteShe is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteI really like Princess Kako’s white suit with the turquoise accessories. It seems downright daring by the standards of the Imperial Household.

I'm alone on this. Love the suit and earrings, but not the purse or shoes.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the shoes and purse are something I would not like too if it was a European princess. For Japan it is a great change as well the color as the style of the shoes.
DeleteYou're not alone ; I also don't like the blue color of the purse and shoes.
DeletePrincess Kako, looks immaculately groomed. This pantsuit looks great, love the color of her accessories, she looks beautiful.
ReplyDeletePrincess Kako and Prince Hisahito are so cute♡
ReplyDeleteThis outfit, absolutely everything, looks like a sartorial revolution at the Imperial Court. Fantastic.

Nice idea, two things that are making the overall look mediocre. Too much contrast between the white and the electric green accessories. And secondly, this pant cut is not working well for anyone shorter than 1.75 m. It cuts off her legs. A sage green instead of the bright highlighter one and full length trousers would have taken her into stylish territory
ReplyDeleteNot so keen for the shoes, maybe it is the color.

All good points. Sage green isn’t a favourite colour of mine, but if you’re going for green, sage would work here best
