Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène gathered with friends at the Yacht Club of Monaco to celebrate the 90th birthday of Alexander “Mogy” Moghadam, a close friend and long-time supplier to the Palace. Sports legends such as Boris Becker were among the guests. For the occasion, Princess Charlène wore a blue sequined blouse by Jenny Packham.

The dance is cute. It’s interesting how a photo can look so different from a human and their clothes in motion or of course in real life. We judge here, regularly, based on a single photo with its lighting, biases, background, and static viewpoint from a single microsecond in time. Frequently the judgements are harsh, mean, or really flippant. But to see this Princess and her outfit in motion - dancing - gives quite a different impression. In the photos my mind thinks “well I can take it or leave it” (neutral) and in the video my mind says “gorgeous”… but it’s in large part nothing to do with the clothes because they fade into irrelevance when I see her kindness in dancing with this older guy on his birthday. Then I think Charlene is gorgeous.

DeleteI don’t know Rossella, if all would dance with a much older man like that. But we all should, definitely. Old people are so interesting to be with and so deserving of community love and esteem and care.

The festive blouse is really gorgeous. This wrap-style with V neckline is so soft and feminine, I am convinced it is good for everyone. Queen Mary knows it, she has at least a dozen wrap blouses in different colours. - As for the hairstyle, I stay firmly with my No :-), not because she is not pretty (if those waves were made on the day she has an appointment) , but because the previous shorter ones were all invariably better.
