On May 10, 2026, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie, accompanied by Prince Charles and Prince François, took part in the closing procession marking the conclusion of the Octave celebrations in Luxembourg. The event brought together numerous pilgrims, members of the faithful, and representatives of various associations. The Octave honors Our Lady of Luxembourg, the patron saint of both Luxembourg City and the nation.
Starting from the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess joined the procession through the city alongside pilgrims, faithful participants, and members of various associations. The afternoon concluded with the traditional balcony appearance at the Palace, from where the Grand Ducal Couple and their children greeted the public.
Oh dear, it is a lovely colour on her, but my goodness the fit is not becoming. It most likely is a Natan design, based on the way the fabric just hangs in all the wrong places. If not it is typical of their designs, letting the fabric flow and create motion for the design. It might work on a very tall, very thin person.

حذفThe concept of Stephanie's ensemble is beautiful, and would look lovely on her, were it not for the poor fit --- as we have seen on a few earlier occasions. Also, the waist seam of the top does not meet the waistline of the pants -- so a more custom design is required.

حذفThis outfit, while good in concept, isn’t working because neither piece fits well. There’s too much gaping and pulling, and it’s highlighted due to the light colored fabric. I understand that she may not be interested in fashion, but this is a big event with lots of public interaction and photos, so the time is here to get a tailor and stylist on the team.

But if I were in Stephanie position and having her young age, I would go for a liposuccion treatment in the hip area, which would make it possible to chose among all styles (or almost) for a young woman without having to care for : is this long enough for me, etc, etc.

ردحذفGrand Duchess: The top is fine if paired with a midi skirt. But those pants - tight on the thighs - accentuate every imperfection of the figure and the crinkling of the fabric unnecessarily draws attention to the crotch.

The poor fit is due to the undergarments. They should finish where the waist band sits. This was the same for her evening gown for the big birthday celebrations. Her stylist is lacking certain talents.

حذفI have to agree with the majority of comments, that there are problems with the fit of the pants, but I’ll go further and ask Really?? A pantsuit, and no head covering (hat or chapel veil, the latter being a lovely alternative to a hat) at a major event in the cathedral? Cannot a Catholic Grand Duchess manage to wear a skirt or a dress, with a hat or at least a headband, on such occasions? (I think we’ve all given up on royal ladies wearing gloves.) Granted that standards have seemed to be sinking lower with every passing year, but it would be so refreshing to see somebody — especially lovely Stephanie! — courageously buck the trend. SMH 🤦♀️

She has a much more difficult to dress body than Catherine, Mary, etc. She’s doing her best. Please don’t shred her best attempts by calling them a disaster! Yes this is a fashion blog; no it doesn’t give anyone the right to criticise another human. Imagine how she’d feel if she read your comments and look to stay kind.
ردحذفIf she asked my opinion I would be honest. Having said that if she is comfortable wearing clothes for variety rather than a signature look that looks good for her. I have a similar shape and opt for something that does not cling to my curvy form. I applaud her that she is happy with herself.

This stretchy Safiyaa top and trousers were designed for a slimmer figure than Stephanie's. I've seen the model photos on the Safiyaa site. But Stephanie is the wearer, and if she feels comfortable wearing the pieces, then more power to her, as comfort is important. The stretchy fabric does look comfortable (like lycra does for exercising) despite the top and trousers looking too tight or snug to our eyes.

The Grand Duchess has a responsibility to dress her best for her public role. Her lovely smile, hair and make-up are wonderful here. But the clothing is subpar. She's not just a woman and a human who wants to be comfortable. She is the foremost representative of her nation (or second to her husband, perhaps)! This means getting assistance from a stylist or taking an additional look in the mirror before exiting to a national event. Or, it means acknowledging one's body type and having things altered to fit perfectly. I have nowhere near her public role and I would have known better than to step out to an important event in those trousers. I will add that sometimes, when a person is in the process of losing weight, they feel a bit of overconfidence and want to wear things that they can't yet wear comfortably. Perhaps she's working on her overall health and thinks she can wear things that don't quite fit just yet? Or perhaps she just doesn't care? Sometimes I think she and Sophie Edinburgh don't particularly care about or give as much thought to how they look and present in public.

حذفI don’t understand anything: GDs has 3 sisters, can’t any of them tell her something about her choices re cloths? They should get some full size mirrors at the palace . Also good underwear helps .
