On May 4, 2026, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended the National Remembrance (Dodenherdenking) ceremony held at Dam Square in Amsterdam. Remembrance Day is held annually on May 4 in the Netherlands. It commemorates all civilians and members of the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands who have died in wars or peacekeeping missions since the outbreak of the Second World War.
Dolce & Gabbana Black Lace Mid Length Dress

Simple and elegant. Her best look.

DeleteFantastic look for the Queen on this somber day. The greatest gift given to society, is Peace and not let Humanity get lost. Thank you to the Generation, for their scarifies. Keeping the Memory alive.

Even though it is a sombre occasion where fashion isn't the point, Maxima looks smart and stylish to just the correct degree.

She looks fabulous. Not keen on the placement of the lace patches, however it works. Love her dark stockings and heels. The kings has a very nicely coordinated tie.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good slimming style dress. She looks excellent.
ReplyDeleteAppropriately dressed in somber attire and absolutely stunning and chic. Perfect hairstyle with simple hat. Elegance!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree
DeleteAppropriately dressed in somber attire and absolutely stunning and chic. Perfect hairstyle with simple hat. Elegance!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say her brooch adds just the right amount royal bling. Pretty.
ReplyDeleteThis black lace fitted dress looks superb, elegant and stylish, she looks beautiful. The lace addition adding interest to the dress otherwise a plain black dress, I find this lace feature very attractive. Her light black hose, perfect. Her black shoes look good, the inside of the heel is red in color, another very interesting feature, I love it! The hat and bag, equally well combined. The detachable brooch is quite beautiful. Up close its really stunning. The perfect jewel piece worn against the black background of her dress. This ensemble was very appropriate and respectful for the event.
ReplyDeleteTo the lives lost, Lest We Forget.
Love from head to toe…great hat and hairstyle, beautiful brooch, simple dress elevated by lace appliqués, and lovely heels.
ReplyDeleteLove the brooch
ReplyDeleteAltijd weer de aandacht trekken met opvallende laboutins, rode zolen, heel ongepast.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think the red heels matter at all. She has dressed in black, she showed up, it's the event that is important - not the heels of just one of the people involved!
DeleteGive it a rest. Altijd wat te zeiken!
Delete@ 11:42 Wat een taaltje ? Ik ben beschaamd dat wij beiden Nederlands spreken.
Deletegetekend : een Vlaamse
The queen doesn’t need to try to attract attention; she already has it. Probably really often she wishes she had much less attention. Whatever she goes full attention is on her! This is what happens when you are famous! Therefore these clothes including the shoes are clearly not to attract attention but to attempt to fit the event while also wearing something the queen feels comfortable in.
DeleteHeel elegant, behalve de knalrode hakken en zolen, leuk maar niet voor een dodenherdenking.
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteThe shoes are too sexy.
DeleteI think the red shoe is simply a brand feature. They do not take away from the event.
DeleteI agree with 07:25 and 07:31 - she never quite gets it right. Posture is lacking, the dress pulls around the waist and stomach and red soles a complete lack of an eye to detail.
ReplyDeleteWow! I think she “gets it right” practically always. Are you expecting perfection from a human, I wonder?! She is Queen, but still a person, a mum, a human … we cannot expect perfection. That level of criticism is not fair at all. It must be so hard to be in the public eye and criticised to this level!
DeleteI agree with 13:05
DeleteIt had a shocking effect to see the red soles and very high heels of the Louboutins and was inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteI think the shoes look great with the dress. The red heels are the mark of the maker and no reflection on the seriousness of the event.
DeleteDisregarding the red sole, why are high heels inappropriate? I wear 3” heels to work almost everyday, as do most other women and we work in a very conservative industry.
DeleteWhen it is Princess Catherine nobody has comments on the high heels.
DeleteQuel look parfait jusqu'à la broche que j'aurais aimée voir de plus près !
ReplyDeleteTenue très élégante, j aime la dentelle discrète sur les côtés
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
So elegant 👏👏
ReplyDeleteShe’s lovely. I’m surprised - or am I not? - of the commenters here criticising her for being imperfect. But we all are! Perfection cannot be a benchmark we hold anyone to.
ReplyDeleteElegant look that is perfect for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Wow. Maxima always looks amazing to me but this is possibly one of her best looks ever even tho it's not her usual bright style, it looks amazing on her. Absolute perfection.
ReplyDeleteSimple elegant and respectful.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Why Maxi in black?
