On May 7–8, 2026, Crown Princess Victoria visited Rome, Italy, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Institute in Rome. On May 7, the Crown Princess began her program with a visit to the Vatican and the tomb of Queen Christina in St. Peter’s Basilica. Queen Christina lived in Rome during the final twenty years of her life and, upon her death in 1689, was buried in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican.

In the evening, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the celebration of the institute’s 100th anniversary. The Swedish Institute in Rome was founded during a meeting at the Royal Palace on May 8, 1925. The institute serves as the base for Swedish archaeological excavations and scientific activities in Italy and also houses a research library.

    The hair clip is a big no for me. However, Victoria looks very lovely in the floral dress with her hair in a higher bun.

    Je n’aime pas la première tenue de Victoria et je n’aurais pas porté la grosse ponce dans les cheveux. La robe fleurie lui sied bien. Josée.
