On April 25, 2026, the Princess of Wales attended the wreath-laying ceremony and parade as part of the Anzac Day commemorations at the Cenotaph in London. Representing the King, she laid a wreath to commemorate the 1915 Gallipoli landings of Australian and New Zealand troops. The Princess of Wales then attended a service of commemoration and thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey in London.

Alexander Mcqueen by Sarah Burton, they know her style so well, the tailoring is pure perfection! Haute Couture 😍

This navy blue is better than the grey one of a different amateur designer she wore during Nigerian state visit

It reminds me of the grey one but I don't think it's any better or worse. This hat I really don't like. The look is her. It's fine to me. She does look a little different I've seen others comment but it's just the makeup. Blush and eyeshadow. I think so.

I think this is a her go to style for the rest of her Royalty. It happens when women reach this time of life, they know who they are.

      We have seen this with other Royals too;
Victoria of Sweden with the bun style.
      Charlene with the suits.
      Maxima with the loud colors!

Longer skirts can be elegant on thin and tall women. The same for wide and longer skirts. Fashionwise shorter skirts and dresses (not mini) are in again. It is up to the lady who must wear it to see what is best for her morphology. Therefore comparing with other royal ladies is not necessary. To each their own preferences.
The long navy coat/dress Princess Catherine is wearing here is not very well cut. The skirt part of the coat is not falling good. I have the impression that the front part of the coat is too narrow. The fabric is pulling around the single button. The shoulders are too wide and too pointy, but that is typical for Alexander McQueen coats and jackets.

Since this is a fashion blog, we should be allowed to state our opinions on the clothes and not what the wearer likes or prefers or feels comfortable in. I personally don't like these long and straight skirts/ dresses and coat's and I wish they were on their way out along with these sky-high thin heels. less length would be much more flattering for tall and thin women like the POW,

I prefer her wearing the longer hemlines than back in the early days when she was wearing her dresses and skirts way too short - especially when she was pregnant with George. She has great legs but that doesn't mean we need to see all of them all the time. I think this hemline during colder/chillie weather is fine and a hemline hitting just across the need the rest of the year.

The white lapels and double breasted buttons make this coat dress feel straight out of the ‘80s. The fit is good but I personally think it’s very aging because the style is so outdated.

Princess Diana wore similar styles in the 80 's ,mostly very flattering and sometimes a bit too much. The lengths were shorter which looked nicer.
What goes around comes around and with slight variations , in the 80's very pretty low heels shoes were worn , that was nice, hope they make a comeback soon!

The POW wore short skirts and dresses pretty regularly when the Queen was alive but she's older and in a different role so I guess she naturally dresses a little different. I'm not a fan of the overly long coat dresses but it's clear she likes them. I think you go with what you like and what's comfortable.

“Over long skirts” … over, from whose measurement? I think many people love longer hemlines and fashion has enough variations for us to find what we enjoy. I too love longer hemlines. I find them very feminine and easy to wear and elegant.

      حذف
    8. غير معرف26/4/26 07:41

@07:25, "over long, why?" Over long, not for you, but for many people, for me, because it lets just the thinnest part of a woman's leg peek out. IMHO, it simply does not look so good as either: ending just under the knee or just a bit more longer, or: real maxi, showing maybe a bit of the ankle. But this length is awkward, because it shows just two very thin "pins", on every woman, not only on Catherine, who is thin. Somehow, it is about proportions, like with sleeves, 3/4 sleeve ending in the middle of the forearm is nice, but ending just above the wrist can be awkward, like "one size too small". So this skirt length is, for me, one size too short or too long, but not quite right :-)

      حذف
    9. P. the original26/4/26 13:41

Once again, I am not one liking to compare one woman to another, still I have to admit that height and measurements matter when choosing an outfit like this.
I find general rules out of place, it is all about what a woman can/ wants to wear and what her figure allows her to do.
I personally like wearing both short and long hems.
(If I weren't 1,77 cm myself, I don't think I would every opt for long ones).
The latter suit tall and slim women and the Princess of Wales is no exception.
This suit is not for everyone and not for every body type.
It also requires high heels and they are not for everyone either.
      P. Catherine looks fabulously and appropriately attired for the occasion imo.

When Queen Maxima is dressed for the ceremonials remembering WWII in The Netherlands she is dressed appropriately too. She has beautiful black clothes and hats and looks stylish and regal too.
@ 08:27 Queen Maxima must not dress as a future queen she is already a queen. @ 07:02 If you wish to compare both royal ladies you must do it during similar circumstances.
Princess Catherine must dress herself like she thinks it is the best. I hope later on when she will be an older lady herself, she won't regret that she didn't dressed in a younger style when she was still younger herself.
@ 08:27 A queen, princess, actress, singer, athlete, etc....are women who are visible on TV, internet, newspapers, magazines, etc... Automatically they are influencers, women will always try to copy them.
It is known that the British are thinking their royals are better (dressed) and are more regal than the rest of the European nobility.
It is normal that the rest of the European nobility have always took the French fashion as an example (in the old days). Later on Italian design was followed as well. When average people started to go more and more on holiday to Spain they brought fashion articles with them like shoes, handbags, jackets, .... all made of leather because in those days leather clothes and shoes were much cheaper in countries like Spain and Italy, but also sports- and swim- and beachwear.
I do not find English fashion attractive myself. I always find (as a civilian) what I need among the European brands. In the meantime almost every European fashion brand (and I mean also German, Danish, Dutch and Belgian fashion) is of good quality and can be worn for a long time.

About "old fashioned", "80's" et cetera: The Princess will never totally follow recognizably newest fashion because exactly then, she would look old-fashioned in a couple of years, when people look at her photos in ehibitions - or anywhere in the media. Those who expect actual fashion are somehow not quite right in a royal fashion blog. She dresses in a classical way, just taking one or the other feature from actual fashion, like the length. But a dress like this, with white lapels, is simply classic, could have been worn any time in the last 100 years. Saying that this "ages her" is simply misunderstanding royal fashion or confuse "fashionable" with "young" (or vice versa). By the way, Catherine is in her 45th year, not exactly very young, but being beautiful is also not to be confused with being young.

Sorry, I disagree about Queen Maxima not having nearly as much time as the Princess of Wales.
Let's not forget three basic points:
1.The two ladies hold different titles: Maxima has to carry off specific engagements related to her top job and she is married to a Head of State as well, , whereas P.Catherine has her own schedule of royal duties, some of which performed on behalf of the King.
      2. Maxima has to work twice or more as much given that the Dutch Royal Family cannot rely on the same number of working royals as those found in the British Royal Family.
      3. Last but not least, actually the most important point of all: thankfully, Maxima can count on her good health and this allows her to be out and about regularly and even to fly abroad on long- haul routes.
Unfortunately, we all know what Catherine has been through and she surely can't shoulder such a conspicous number of engagements at home and abroad.
Let's be honest: comparing these two ladies is absolutely unfair and not realistic.
In addition, I am struggling to understand why some people tend to favour all these comparisons.
Every human- royal or not- is unique and has his / her own personality, figure and individual life story.

Where is that come from ? Comparing 2 totally different royal ladies Queen Maxima and Princess Catherine ?
What I don't like is the fact that the British are thinking that their royals are better than other royals and that they are dressed better. They have their style and that is O.K., but the royals on the continent have their style too. They have access to fashion houses like Dior, Chanel, Armani and so many more. They sometimes buy a dress from Jenny Packham too. What I do like is the freedom of choice among the European royals. They are also trying sometimes new and young designers. Sometimes they look gorgeous in new designs and sometimes it doesn't work. But it is never boring. It is not true that Queen Maxima is wearing a wig. She uses hair extensions, hair pieces to make beautiful up do's, etc... when necessary. Unfortunately her own hair is not of a good quality. Not every woman is lucky to have natural hair of good quality.
There is one thing Princess Catherine and Queen Maxima have in common : they both are using too much make-up, especially the very dark eye shadow....

What an interesting and unusual hat; I don’t think I’ve ever seen one like it. It is quite attractive. As for an alleged “80s vibe” I don’t know about that…my 80s memory is of the ravishingly feminine poufy sleeves and froufrou made popular during Princess Diana’s David & Elizabeth Emanuel period (which I rather miss 😁, although I thought the wedding dress was way too much of a good thing). Catherine’s outfit here is much more in a severe 1940s style, and certainly on point for a somber occasion.
