Alexander Mcqueen by Sarah Burton, they know her style so well, the tailoring is pure perfection! Haute Couture 😍

This navy blue is better than the grey one of a different amateur designer she wore during Nigerian state visit

It reminds me of the grey one but I don't think it's any better or worse. This hat I really don't like. The look is her. It's fine to me. She does look a little different I've seen others comment but it's just the makeup. Blush and eyeshadow. I think so.

Just saying: The Princess Royal was out and about for Anzac Day too, but it was the Anzac Day Dawn Service, very early in the morning. She had a nice green coat on and a pretty hat.

This is a beautiful coat dress - but I am waiting all the time that this silly long skirt fashion disappears, together with every other fabric wasting fashion uglinesses like overly wide trousers wiping the the floor. Women should protest instead of blindly following ...

I don’t think long hemlines silly! I think they are a feminine and elegant style choice. I don’t think that those who love longer skirts are blindly following, I think they enjoy the look. I know I do.

I think this is a her go to style for the rest of her Royalty. It happens when women reach this time of life, they know who they are.

      We have seen this with other Royals too;
Victoria of Sweden with the bun style.
      Charlene with the suits.
      Maxima with the loud colors!

The white lapels and double breasted buttons make this coat dress feel straight out of the ‘80s. The fit is good but I personally think it’s very aging because the style is so outdated.

Even if we shared your opinion about the style being 80's (I don't): why is 80's style ageing anyone? I simply don't understand what is ageing about a style that looks good on somebody? and why are white lapels and double breasted buttons out of the 80's?

Not outdated, but like so many things in fashion, a style coming back round again. “Very aging” is inaccurate.

It looks very dated to me as well. I don't think it's coming back around. It's mostly royal ladies that wear this and she in particular likes this style. That's fine. I'm not a fan but I don't have to wear it.People have different opinions and they are entitled to them. "We" don't have to share them.

This coat looks very nice on her, the white collar breaks up the long column look.

Hair would look nicer shorten to a bit longer than shoulder length like she used to have it. I know it is her choice but it is not a becoming accessory at this length imo

Very stylish and royal, isn’t she? I love the length of the coat which is extremely elegant. Thank you Catherine for honouring our Aussie and Kiwi soldiers after such horrific events. Those soldiers in WWI at Gallipoli lived in hell ( as no doubt did the Turkish whose land they were commanded to invade).

A slightly shorter length would have been even better. It is typical McQueen, even with a new artistic director. It works for her and for the occasion.

    1. Kate like Sophie tends to wear over long skirts and dresses. that are unflattering. Maybe it's a requirement for the Windsor family.

I think they just like them. The POW wore short skirts and dresses pretty regularly when the Queen was alive but she's older and in a different role so I guess she naturally dresses a little different. I'm not a fan of the overly long coat dresses but it's clear she likes them. I think you go with what you like and what's comfortable.

Absolutely perfect look for a very special and somber occasion. I know this is a tried and true style but the elegance of this style is perfect for Catherine.

The style of Catherine’s coat, with the white collar, reminds me of 1980s fashion. It is not my favorite. Nonetheless, she looks appropriately attired and well groomed for the occasion. It is good to see Catherine undertaking events such as this solo - she has grown (and continues to grow) into her role as the Princess of Wales and appears poised and confident.

Well nice to see them out today for Anzac Day. I don't remember who attended last year but I think Princess Anne attended the Dawn service this year and last. Not much to write home about fashion wise. Not the point. She went with what works for her. The long coat dress. Hate that hat.
