Queen Máxima Attends the First National Undiagnosed Hackathon

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Queen Máxima attended the first National Undiagnosed Hackathon at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen. At this hackathon, teams of specialists come together to work toward reaching a diagnosis within 48 hours for patients with rare conditions who have not yet received one. A number of patients and their parents were present at the event.

Queen Máxima spoke with patients and their families about living with an undiagnosed condition and what it means to finally receive a diagnosis. She also spoke with several specialist teams about their methods, the information available to them, and how they approach different cases. She also visited a photo exhibition featuring individuals living with rare undiagnosed conditions.
