Queen Máxima is in Washington, D.C., to attend the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health. On April 16, the Queen met with several key partners and leaders to discuss financial health initiatives.
On Friday, April 17, at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, Queen Máxima attended the “G20 Fireside Chat on Global Financial Literacy.” The United States has held the presidency of the G20 since December 1, 2025. Among the other participants in the fireside discussion were Treasury Secretary Bessent, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, and the finance ministers of Mexico and Japan, Édgar Amador Zamora and Satsuki Katayama.
The burnt orange color looks great on Maxima but I' m just not a fan of so many ruffles.

DeleteI like the green suit. It is by Natan and they tried to copy the style of the bar jacket by Christian Dior. The real thing like worn in white by Queen Mathilde is of course much more elegant and refined. Queen Mathilde also has an ensemble of a jacket and skirt in navy by Natan with 4 pockets and a small belt, if I remember correctly. She wore it at the inauguration of the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris after the renovation works which were necessary to repair the cathedral after the fire which damaged an important part of the cathedral. I liked it too.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are very nice for Maxima. For the green suit the short overly detailed jacket throws off her excellence proportions. The jacket would suit her better I feel without the belt - and if possible without the pockets. Is it Natan? For the orange outfit, I think she looks good and relaxed on stage with it so it matches the purpose of the day, which is obviously a big reason for choosing an outfit. Her shoes are extraordinarily high and thin heeled and I personally could never bear to wear them… which no doubt biases me to say that I don’t think they look as good as lower shoes would.

ReplyDelete… I think he was thinking that it would really look lovely on some women. I think Maxima is one of them. I think she looks beautiful in it.

DeleteTheir agenda is sometimes full a longtime before the events take place. CP Amalia was not present at the "koningspelen" either. She could also go together with her father, she is the crownprinces. Queen Maxima is only the queen consort. CP Amalia visited Amsterdam during 2 days also part of her preparation as a future Queen.
DeleteWhy they are doing it this way ? I wouldn't know. They probably had a reason. I think in The Netherlands the people are used that Queen Maxima is showing up to open every new branch in a factory, to visit charity organizations, to go to the hobby clubs of the elderly, to visit the farmers who are making good cheese for us, etc....
When I compare it with Belgium, I noticed that Queen Mathilde's agenda is not up-to-date anymore like in the past. Just a few more important dates are reserved a longtime in advance. Shorter visits are announced only 2 or 3 days in advance. Why is that ? There must be a reason that her real agenda is not published a long time in advance. It could be for security reasons or something else. Queen Mathilde is also going on Economic mission abroad for the first time next month. I think she is preparing it a long time in advance because it is very important to her to arrive there (in Turkey) with full knowledge of the subjects which will be treated. Princess Astrid who did this before always said it is a very demanding job which asks a lot of preparation. Queen Mathilde will not be alone there. Usually the Minister of Foreign Trade will be there too. Sometimes the Prime Minister is present too. I am sure she will be well prepared to represent the foreign trade dept. of her country.
She is a busy lady. I like the green suit, but more the copper one, just not a fan of all the ruffles.

The green pantsuit looks good, it is a nice fit. Love the color of this ensemble. The orange outfit is a bit different, I believe it is a rewear, she wears this well. Love the color of her shoes.

The green outfit just doesn`t fit. The jacket is too short, the belt oddly drooping, the pocket flaps not needed. The ruffle outfit to me just looks dated. Creased trousers, too many ruffles, might have been better presented if she had tied her hair back - which is back to being messy, the hairdresser must have gone home.
ReplyDeleteI think there are hairdressers in the hotels where they stay. On state visits she has always her personal assistant with her. I'v heard she is quite capable to manage the hair of Queen Maxima.
