Princess Madeleine of Sweden is in New York to attend events marking the 120th anniversary of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce. As part of the anniversary program, Princess Madeleine attended the Nordic–U.S. AI Leadership Summit organized by the Chamber at One Manhattan West in New York City. She also attended a high-profile networking event at the Swedish Consulate General on Park Avenue.

Vests under suit jackets are coming big!! I love each and every one (this one only under the jacket). Some designers must have had enough of hearing me moaning about collared shirts under jackets :-))
ReplyDeleteHello 9:33! I like some but not others. I do wonder about the practicality. A shirt is worn against the skin and easily washed; a vest doesn’t protect the jacket from sweat and skin and so the suit likely needs more dry cleaning more often, which is unkind to the environment. Some however look great. For me this one is nice but cut way lower on the bust than I would feel comfortable with - but I trust experienced Madeleine knows what she’s doing for which events.
Delete@11:46: your argument is good. I am ready for a compromise in form of a simple top ... maybe displaying an intimate connection with the jacket, e.g. how Amalia's vest/top seemed to do it. Even if it was a sleeveless vest, it could have been a top with sleeves :-)

DeleteI think princess Madeleine doesn't care if her clothes have to go to the dry cleaning. She must not even bring them herself and she will pay afterwards what have to be paid. She takes a plain to the US for a yes or a no and when she still lived there she came regularly to Sweden. Royals don't care much about the planet. They all take planes to different countries be it near by or on a long distance. It is known that what an airplane looses to take off is very bad for the environnement and for the people who are respiring it. Now with the energy crisis there will be soon not enough kerosene to fly from A to B to go to all kind of summit's, state visits or working visits.
..... She takes a plane (not a plain) to the US....

I said "one of" not the "most beautiful".
At a certain moment when they moved from the US to Sweden for good one could see it clearly she had a different face than before. What happened we don't know, but it is sure she did something. It is a good sign that what she did is not visible very much. It means that what she did has been done by an excellent specialist who used excellent methods and/or products.

I do not like this new trend of wearing these top which looks like vests. First they were vests without sleeves but with a back. Now the shoulders and the back are gone too. On top of that the vest or should I say the top underneath Princess Madeleine's jacket is too big for her. On the model the buttons start much higher.

ReplyDeleteThe Princess looks lovely, the 3 piece suit looks elegant and stylish. It fits well. What did take my eye more was the lady in the white two piece buttoned suit, combined with the black accessories, she looks so chic and beautifully attired. Her pantsuit fits her perfectly.
