On April 19, 2026, Crown Princess Kiko and Princess Kako attended the “Charity Concert 2026: Beethoven’s Ninth Sung by Cancer Patients” at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Toshima Ward, Tokyo. Organized by the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research and other organizations, around 190 cancer patients and their family members, ranging in age from their 20s to their 80s, performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 accompanied by an orchestra.
