King Charles III and Queen Camilla are on a state visit to the United States. The King and Queen are on a four-day official visit to the United States to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. On the second day of the state visit, King Charles and Queen Camilla received a ceremonial welcome from U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on the South Lawn of the White House.
Afterwards, Queen Camilla and First Lady Melania Trump were joined by American students at the White House Tennis Pavilion for a cross-cultural educational event as part of Melania Trump’s “Fostering the Future Together” initiative. For the occasion, Queen Camilla wore a pistachio-green crepe silk jacket by Fiona Clare, adorned with a diamond heart brooch that once belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

DeleteWell Camilla's laugh makes everything okay. A pretty good dress and a okay hat. Melania's hat is awful. It doesn't match the skirt suit. A smoothing under garment under that top would improve the look greatly.
DeleteNot adjectives I would ever use with Camilla. The state visit has gone as well as it could. Not much interest or controversy created by the royals in comparison. Donald and Melania are causing most of the controversy during the trip. Not popular in the UK already and that's good for them.Camilla's dress is one of her best. Her best. The hat is pretty good. Melania's top is looking weird. Spanx would smooth that right out. I don't like the buttons the yellow suit was better.

DeleteI think Camilla does a good job here. Sure not an easy one to pull off if your companion could be your daughter (from the age difference perspective) and was a model, but in her own category, she is doing really well. This V-line we see for the second time during the trip - it is very becoming on her - that would be a good basis to slowly introduce skirt suits with V-necklined jackets. The only thing I miss is a pearl necklace. Not a choker, just a necklace. Melania is her perfect self. I don't quite get the stiff character of the jacket, visible where it meets the skirt.
ReplyDeleteI disagree that “Melania is her perfect self”. Her outfit is as stiff and unattractive as her character. I do not find this harshness appealing, let alone perfection. I would love to see her in softness, clothes which are soft, a character which is soft. I would love if at some stage she could step out from behind the mask.

ReplyDeleteMelania Trump’s outfit is so well-tailored and elegant. I wouldn’t normally gravitate to the style of hat she is wearing, but it does coordinate nicely with her outfit. Camilla’s earrings and brooch are exquisite.

Queen Camilla stays with her preferred style but again this looks a bit more elegant somehow. Lovely colour and great hat. The First Lady looks wonderful. I much prefer this suit to the one she wore yesterday. She seems to like this style of hat and it looks good on her.

Lovely coat for the queen, but why do her undergarments not support her bosom in the center rather than separated. Not a very becoming look.

DeleteSupport has nothing to do with volume. Melania's breasts are well supported by the cut of her bra, which is not the case with Camilla. She is wearing the wrong bra.
I preferred Melania in the yellow suit. The cut of the white jacket with all the buttons looks exaggerated to me. All her hats look the same and we cannot see her eyes anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe only remark I have on Q. Camilla's dress is that it has the same style as all her other dresses. The fabric seems to be of a good quality. On the first photos the dress looks white but on the last pictures the color looks like it is described "pistachio-green".
I can see her eyes just fine. Perhaps you should open yours!

DeleteWell that's a matter of opinion. To me she isn't on the inside or out. The suit is fine. Many of her Ralph Lauren looks are just okay and this is another one.
DeleteRalph Lauren can look lovely, but not here. It looks stiff, perhaps too tight on an older body, she is 56 afterall (despite her face). I also think the colour doesn’t flatter her. A bold colour with some softness would perhaps be more flattering.
DeleteI totally agree, you cannot go wrong with Ralph Lauren. I do not find the suit to be stiff. It is tailored beautifully. While none of us here commenting know her personally, I have always noticed whether with children, Princess Catherine, Queen Rania, or in interviews that she is the total opposite of the word "stiff."

ReplyDeleteQueen Camilla looks lovely here, much the same style, regardless a good fit and suits her well. The brooch is a nice addition. A single strand of pearls would have looked so good compared to the thin gold necklace she has worn here.
Both the Q and FL look really beautiful. The Q is in a go to silhouette and it works well. The FL’s suit is stunning and tailored like a glove. Love her hat but wish she had some hair down to make it a little less stark.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see the jacket of Melania I must think of the world famous white Dior jacket on a black wide skirt (in the fifties last century). So for me Melania great except for this awful hat. Camilla wins it by far as the hat is concerned. Further Camilla in her kind of signature look wel taylored simple and chique. She is always so good in white.

DeleteI think you mean the Bar jacket by Dior : it is white and famous all over the world. Queen Mathilde bought one in 2024. It is made exactly like the jacket Christian Dior designed it in the 50s. The house of Dior relanced it and since then it is available again in their collection. Q. Mathilde wears it with a white pleated skirt, but it is completely different than this jacket worn by the 1st lady. One look at the buttons and I know it is not the real thing. On the jacket by Dior the buttons have a normal size and are covered with the same fabric of which the jacket is made. There are also false pockets in the waist area (just like on the new pink dress of Q. Camilla). Probably Dior designed also other jackets in the same period, but these are less famous than the Bar jacket.
