On April 16, 2026, Grand Duchess Stéphanie, accompanied by Minister Max Hahn and Mayor Christian Weis, visited Maison Sourrire in Esch-sur-Alzette, where she met with beneficiaries, as well as staff and volunteers working on the ground. The aim of the Maison Sourrire association is to connect applicants for and beneficiaries of international protection with local residents, with the goal of fostering social ties through cultural activities.
The Grand Duchess received information about the association’s work in support of vulnerable people, particularly refugees and residents facing difficulties. At Maison Sourrire, free language courses, sports and creative workshops, psychological support, and opportunities for community engagement are offered.
