On the evening of April 8, 2026, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended the anniversary performance celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Royal Conservatoire at Amare Theatre in The Hague. The conservatoire was founded by King William I in 1826. During the evening, they also spoke with teachers and students, and afterwards met participating artists.
The Royal Conservatoire is the oldest conservatory in the Netherlands and is part of the University of the Arts The Hague. For two hundred years, it has been a place where musicians, dancers, and composers are trained and develop their artistic talents. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a special cocktail dress from the Belgian fashion house Natan. Queen Máxima first wore this dress in 2017 and wore it again at an evening event in 2023.

Great look. Very stylish. The same is true for her heels, but I would have chosen a lighter shade of colour for her tights.
ReplyDeleteM looks great but let's indeed talk about the tights. They are imv always too glossy that makes her legs look more thick than they need to be
DeleteFabulous. What a cute dress!
ReplyDeleteThe rewear is a good evening dress. Shoes and other accessories are matching the dress. Unfortunately she sticks to shiny panty hose which have completely vanished out of fashion land.
ReplyDeleteYes much too shiny like always
DeleteThis is a real mad Max dress - and I mean that in a good way. LRB
ReplyDeleteHello Perfectly Shaped Arms, so happy to see you again after the long winter. Love this outfit unconditionally, fluff is OK, because otherwise very simple, perfect length, beautiful fit and shape, adorable shoes.
ReplyDeleteTrès originale mais j aime beaucoup
ReplyDeleteFroufrou
Leuk jurkje, maar het haar is echt heel erg.
ReplyDeleteI was loving the dress until I scrolled down to the bottom
ReplyDeletebit.! Very Maxima I guess.
I do like that the shoes match one of the colors in the horizontal stripes.
Cate.
Plastic sided shoes, of their day and not good then. Shiney tights, a complete NO. Ostrich feather fringe - when was that ever regarded as elegant? Hair pulled back, but more effort could have been made. The colour of the dress is nice! Indeed, minus the silly feathers, awful tights and with a simple court shoe it might have been a good look.
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Tough critic.
DeleteI'm blown away by your positivity @Anon 12.33
DeleteI'm glad you like this outfit and look so much. Well done.

@14:31: you mean you don't like shiny tights? This does not mean they are "awful". Ostrich feather: always been part of an outfit if occasion fitting - maybe you could consider the occasion here. And "silly" is maybe not quite accurate? Your effort to be negative was successful, but your comment is far removed from any objectivity or even mere politeness.
DeleteCorrection: Apologies Anon 12:33. My comment was meant to be directed to Anon 14:31, not you.

És un vestit, que va molt en la línea de la personalitat que mostra, natural, extrovertida, desenfadada....pero mi, com sempre el millor accessori és la seva actitud.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun evening dress! Love the colored stripes and feathers(?) at the bottom. The yellow shoes and coordinating king in a yellow tie are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe SHOES! I would die for those shoes! They really make this pretty dress stand out. Gorgeous. The hair looks a bit rushed but otherwise a beautiful outfit!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the problem with slightly shiny pantyhose? I mean, if some people don't like them, I am fine with that, but some other people evidently like and wear them - and they are not an absolute Nogo or a fashion faux pas, they are a question of personal preference, so why this bashing? And why the absurdity of stating that they make legs appear thicker, that little shine does not do anything like that.
ReplyDeleteEven in the famous and expensive collections of stockings, panty hose, tights, etc... you don't find almost no shiny examples any more. I wore them myself during the 70s-80s. I do not like them any more. They are completely out of fashion.
Delete@00:42: I don't know which collections you mean. European ones, e.g. Wolford, does have "etraordinary shine" mentioned on more than one of their pantyhoses. But again, you don't have to like and wear them, this just does not mean that they are completely out of fashion.
Delete@ 14:43
DeleteAs far as I know Maxima is the only royal lady who still wears them.
Is that a new huge sparkly diamond ring on her right hand? Don't think I have seen it before.
ReplyDeleteI did see her with this ring once before, but I can't remember when or on what occasion. Via "google" you must be able to find it by using the keywords "Queen Maxima's jewelry" or "diamond rings Queen Maxima" or any other combination of these words.
DeleteThe dress is nice, but the hairstyle is really very messy and drags the whole look down. The shiny tights don't match at all.
ReplyDelete@22.04-what do you offer as a construct other than a negative?
ReplyDeleteSome points made are valid, you have added nothing.
Great outfit for this special performance.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit for this special performance.
ReplyDeleteThis dress suits the Queen, she wears this with panache and style. Love the color of her shoes, highlighting the same stripe of her dress, looks to be a Navy clutch.
ReplyDelete@22.04- if you are going to be negative about a point of view then give your own opinion otherwise your comment means nothing and is not polite!.
ReplyDeleteA mon humble avis, des collants gris clair très fins auraient mieux convenu !
ReplyDeleteNice dress but not a fan of the feather border.
