On March 20, 2026, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the annual ceremony of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities at the House of Nobility (Riddarhuset) in Stockholm. During the event, the King presented the Academy's medals and scholarships. The Academy's highest award, the Gad Rausing Prize, was presented to Professor of Archaeology Gavin Murray Lucas from the University of Iceland.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, also known simply as the Royal Academy of Letters or Vitterhetsakademien, is abbreviated as KVHAA. It is an academy dedicated to the humanities. The Academy awards several prizes and medals annually. These are traditionally presented at the Academy’s annual ceremony in March, marking its establishment in 1753.
