On March 19, 2026, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, and Ambassador Urban Ahlin visited NATO’s operational headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Joint Force Command Norfolk is NATO’s operational headquarters in North America. Sweden officially became the 32nd member of NATO on March 7, 2024.
During the visit, the Crown Princess, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard, and Ambassador Urban Ahlin met with some of the Swedish officers serving at the headquarters. The Crown Princess and the Swedish delegation also visited the command center and received information about the work carried out there.
