Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden completed her officer training with a period spent in the Army during the winter of 2026. The Swedish Armed Forces and the Royal Court released photographs from the training on March 16, 2026. During 2024–2025, the Crown Princess completed the Special Officer Training Programme at the Swedish Defence University. In the spring of 2025, she was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant.
Following her formal officer training, and in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Swedish Armed Forces’ activities, the Crown Princess undertook advanced training with the Air Force during the autumn of 2025. At the beginning of 2026, through practical exercises with Army units, Crown Princess Victoria received tactical training at different levels.
Crown Princess Victoria participated in the training of conscripts at the Norrbotten Brigade and took part in the planning of national security operations at the 13th Security Battalion of the Life Guards. At the Land Warfare School, Crown Princess Victoria had the opportunity to observe and test how the modern Army trains and develops.
In addition to training and participation in operational activities, the Crown Princess visited the Army Staff in Enköping for discussions with the Army leadership regarding the Army’s ongoing development and future.
Abroad, the Crown Princess also took part in activities with the 71st Battalion in Latvia as part of Sweden’s troop contribution to NATO forces in the Baltic region. During the visit to Latvia, she also visited the first Swedish soldiers’ home abroad at Camp Valdemar in Ādaži.
