Ahead of International Women’s Day (8 March), the Duchess of Edinburgh is making a two-day official visit to the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. On February 25, 2026, the Duchess met with William Ruto at State House, Nairobi. Afterwards, the Duchess attended a meeting with leading businesswomen from the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya at the Pallet Cafe in Lavington, Nairobi.
On the evening of February 25, 2026, the Duchess of Edinburgh attended a Women in Leadership reception at the British High Commission Nairobi Residence in Nairobi. For the occasion, the Duchess wore a floral bouquet dress by Beulah London.

The Beulah dress is gorgeous on Sophie.
ReplyDeleteHet Britse koningshuis is zich op een verkrampte manier aan het uitsloven.
ReplyDeleteIt’s always lovely to see Sophie in knee length clothes, and not swirling in unnecessary amounts of fabric. Both of these dresses are lovely, and she wears them well.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
I have to applaud Suzannah for the scenic print of the dress. It is very original & bold. The more I look at it the more I like it. I definitely prefer the matching belt shown on the model because it doesn't interfere with the flow of the print. The tan belt Sophie wore cuts the print in half and destroys the scene.
ReplyDeleteThe Buelah dress is gorgeous with the creative placements of two different fabrics. The large flowers in the main part of the dress next to the smaller ones in the middle, waist and bottom of the sleeves keeps the print from being overwhelming. I love the short lantern sleeves too. Both dresses were a good choice for Kenya and suit the environment.
The only dress I like is the Suzannah landscape dress. The large leather belt is less beautiful. I prefer a belt like the model wears in the same fabric as the dress and not too wide. The Beulah dress is out of fashion since at least 3 years or maybe longer. In this dress Duchess Sophie looks matronly.
ReplyDeleteAlmost all royal women re-wear dresses and gowns, so the concept of being out of fashion is not so relevant for them, if they cleverly avoid more extreme features like these balloon sleeves on the Beulah dress. Without those silly sleeves (and shorter ...) it could be a a nice evergreen for Sophie, provided she would let it be made shorter.
DeleteAprès avoir mieux regardé ces robes, mon choix s’est porté beulah
ReplyDeleteAprès réflexion, c’est la robe Beulah qui a ma préférence !
ReplyDeleteThe Susannah dress is the only thing I’ve liked on this trip and she put that horrible belt on with it. Well at least she’s out and doing what the government requests. One day in Somalia and two in Kenya.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the belt styling should be swapped! The Suzannah dress needs the self-belt to blend in with the scenery and the floral dress could benefit from a wide contrasting belt (and shorter length and sliming down the long billowy sleeves). The colors on the floral dress are great on the Duchess, but the cut completely negates her great figure. The dress and espadrilles have done their duty so hopefully they are both retired soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Susannah dress looks great; it’s a good length and worn with nice shoes. I like the colours of the Beulah dress but it’s too long and the clumpy wedges don’t help. It’s great to see her and the admirable work she’s doing
ReplyDeleteThe Suzannah dress is beautifully done, a work of art, the landscape on the fabric is stunning. This dress is very flattering. The Duchess wears it well, love the color of her accessories.
