The Duchess of Edinburgh is making a two-day official visit to Kenya at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. On the second day of her visit, the Duchess met with Ahmed Abdullahi Jiir, Governor of Wajir, at the Governor's Office in Wajir, north-east Kenya. They discussed the challenges of climate change in the region, with water and resource scarcity driving instability.

Afterwards, the Duchess attended a meeting with women peacebuilders working with the UK's Deris Wanaag and Reinvent programmes in Wajir. The discussions emphasized community-led peacebuilding and the empowerment of women as key to fostering stability and inclusive growth.     Lost for words. But everything not-so-quite-positive that has been written about Sophie's personal taste preferences can be applied to this dress. One addition: her inner princess took over.

    What a perfect dress for the context. She is really lovely with kids, and having heard her speak, seems to be an incredibly compassionate lady. I’m glad she has this role where she can do good from within an official framework.
