On February 18, 2026, Queen Suthida of Thailand arrived in Milan to attend the ice hockey tournament at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games in her capacity as the IIHF’s Ambassador for the Promotion of Women’s Ice Hockey. The Queen was received at Milan Malpensa International Airport in Italy by the Ambassador of Italy to Thailand, the Ambassador of Thailand to Rome, and officials from both countries.
In the early hours of February 19, 2026, Queen Suthida of Thailand left the Palace Hotel in Como, where she was staying, and visited the Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan.
In the afternoon, Queen Suthida attended the women’s ice hockey bronze medal match between Sweden and Switzerland at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, supporting the sport at the invitation of the International Ice Hockey Federation.
In the evening, she also attended the women’s ice hockey gold medal match between the United States and Canada at the Milano Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena. Queen Suthida also met with the Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace, the creative force behind Versace.
I wonder how she became “ IIHF’s Ambassador for the Promotion of Women’s Ice Hockey”????? Not a lot of Thai athletes in ice hockey,… or ice? Sometimes I get annoyed at the promotion and rewarding of royals when they already have such immense privilege, whereas they could be helping empower their people and ensuring they get such roles.
ردحذفI suspect there are at least two reasons. One, the Queen genuinely enjoys and supports ice hockey. Nothing odd there - lots of people enjoy sports they don’t necessarily have in their area. Two, most marketing /promotional campaigns are enhanced by the visibility of their representatives. Like it or not, people’s interest will be piqued by someone famous much more so than someone of whom they’ve never heard.
حذفThe Queen, herself, enjoys playing the sport seriously and has even trained with Thailand's national team. She was made ambassador in 2023/2024 due to her significant contributions to the sport's development in Thailand, Asia, and globally, as well as her personal, hands-on participation.

Queen Suthida is not only a dedicated sportswoman but also a highly skilled pilot. Her wide range of accomplishments and talents truly deserve to be recognized and celebrated. Many sports associations in Thailand operate under the patronage of the King or Queen, reflecting a longstanding tradition in which these organizations receive support from the Thai royal family. If you are uninformed on this matter, it is best to remain silent rather than spread baseless negativity and toxic hate messages. Displaying such ignorance only serves to expose your own lack of knowledge and lack of global citizen mindset.

حذفThe Queen always looks impeccably groomed, ensembles are always tailored to her shape, perfectly. The designs and styles of her outfits are both elegant and modern and most times with interesting features. Her jewellery choice is tasteful and well thought out. Her hair up style is always done well, not just pulled back in a bun. Its artfully, but subtly styled. The A line black leather skirt looks stunning on movement it has lovely swish! which I love. All these outfits look superb. Love the accessory choices. Lastly I particularly love her white ensemble. Its stylish, chic and beautifully elegant.
ردحذفShe's always impeccably dressed (perhaps my favorite royal sartorially speaking) but I must say, I think she's over dressed here. The black outfit is so intense she looks as if she flew in to attend a state funeral. The white outfit is also very intense especially with the coat. Give her a veil and she's ready to meet the Pope!
ردحذفQueen Suthida looks impeccable, love her outfit but all white is fantastic. Charities or any other causes are a lifelong job for Royals, not like for Celebs who wanted to be seen and not forgotten.
