On February 6, 2026, Queen Mathilde visited the Sexual Assault Care Centre (Zorgcentrum na Seksueel Geweld) in Lodelinsart. Victims of sexual violence are offered comprehensive support at the centre, including medical care, legal assistance, and psychological counselling, in a safe and calming environment where respect is shown for their suffering.
The Queen toured the centre’s facilities and met with frontline professionals involved in supporting victims, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, doctors, and specialised police inspectors. She listened to their testimonies and learned about their specific approach. This visit follows earlier activities by the Queen related to domestic violence in Belgium, but on this occasion with a particular focus on victims of sexual violence.
