New Video Released to Mark the Princess of Wales’s 44th Birthday

The Princess of Wales celebrates her 44th birthday today. Traditionally, Kensington Palace releases portraits on the Princess’s birthday; however, this year it has broken with tradition and shared a video instead. The video marks the fourth and final seasonal instalment of a series the Princess has described as her “deeply personal creative project.”

The project was launched last year with the Spring episode at the start of last year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. During the film, the Princess is seen walking in Berkshire, with additional footage filmed in Cumbria, Gloucestershire, London, Sussex, and the Cotswolds.

I understand your point to be, the clash of military colours (and the connotations of military and war?) with the beauty of nature? Agreed in many instances … however I think it’s just a very conservative British idea to wear these colours and styles in nature. I think she looks very cute with this type of cap. And I too love these videos from her to us!

" What it means to be alive", yes that's the core message.
You brought tears to my eyes, you hit the deepest chords even inside of me.
That's poetry and tough experience all in one.
I get Wordsworth vibes from the Princess's profound reflections.
Enjoy every moment of your second life, dear Princess Catherine, alongside your marvellous family.

    2. "Poetry and tough experience - all in one". You worded that perfectly. Winter really is the perfect season for a time-out from our face-paced lives. Some welcome melancholy and quietness. And nature really is the perfect place for it, a place to reflect, to find with your true self, to reconnect with life in its essence. Pure, real, healing and invigorating. This message resonates with me deeply, too.

Nice coat and scarf. The hat is okay, it has never been a favourite look for me. She certainly has a photographers eye for detail.

I don’t find it Over The Top, but rather (1) Catherine’s choice of her words for her video, for her feelings and her message. That’s beautiful I think that she feels the confidence to share deep, poetic, personal thoughts and risk analysis and criticism from the world. (2) a beautiful message of how she perceives the power of nature and the benefit of seeking quiet, which many might learn from her and be inspired.

I love that nature is free and that most people in Britain whether poor or rich can access and use nature to feel better.

This video makes me so sad. We lost a family member (younger than Kate) to this dreaded disease a couple of months ago, leaving behind 3 very young children.

Not a fan of the video, something Meghan might do. Not sure what Queen Elizabeth might have thought of this.(Tara)
