On the occasion of the change of reign and in accordance with tradition, a series of official painted portraits, as well as a bronze bust of Grand Duke Guillaume, were created. This ensemble is completed by a portrait of Grand Duchess Stéphanie. On January 15, 2026, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess attended the presentation of the official portraits.
From January 16 to February 1, 2026, these works are being showcased at the Nationalmusée um Fëschmaart as part of a free-admission exhibition organized by the Maison du Grand-Duc, in collaboration with the Nationalmusée, with the support of the Chamber of Deputies and the Ministry of Culture. The works were created by painter Roland Schauls, portrait artists Louise Pragnell and Andrew Gow, as well as sculptor Serge Ecker.

O please, this is such a baggy suit. Give the lady with the beautifull face some fashion advice!
ReplyDeleteI agree! A good tailor/seamstress could make all the difference in Stephanie's wardrobe.
DeleteShe no doubt has lots of access to advice but still her own preferences.
DeleteI like the look of the white pant suit on the Grand Duchess and the red purse/shoes add a nice contrast. However, the jacket seems a bit too big on her in the shoulder area and a blouse in a different color might have worked better.
ReplyDeleteA good colour for her. I think if her jacket had been buttoned up the fit would be there. Perhaps a scarf to add a touch of colour would have been nice. She looks lovely
ReplyDeleteCette veste autant que le pantalon me semble un peu trop grande pour la silhouette de la Grande-Duchesse ; j’aurais bien voulu mieux voir ses boucles d’oreilles !
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I love the idea of this trouser suit. The color and the red accessories are very stylish but...the suit is too big. The jacket is swamping Stephanie and the trousers are too long. A good tailor could remake this suit to fit her--and then she would have a great look.

I agree with Janet's comments about the suit's ill fit and the needs for a good tailor. I like the red accessories, but I would have chosen either a clutch or a more elegant handbag with top handle. This looks a little too casual for this event.
DeleteIf every outfit she buys must have a remake by a good taylor, it would be better to buy the fabric and have made her clothes according her measurements. The pantsuit she is wearing here is made according the style which is fashion today. Wide jackets, wide and long pants. If you cannot wear it because you are not tall enough and not thin enough it is better to wear a classic style with less wide and less long trousers and a less wide jacket. Maybe a tailor would still be needed to change a couple of little details, but it is always better than trying to remake a pant suit which is meant to be worn by a lady with a complete different morphology than GD Stéphanie. I also took a look at the fabric in close up and it didn't look a very good quality to me. Or it was made in a light summer quality which is no problem as she was inside a room. If you compare Stéphanie's white suit with the white one worn by the lady in picture N° 4, one can see immediately that Stéphanie is wearing a suit which is completely wrong for her. I do not need a stylist to tell me that. I do not understand that she is not capable to see it herself.
DeleteShe just needed to button the jacket for photos and add a pop of colour
DeleteL' avant-dernière photo est sympa : les deux femmes en blanc sont bien en valeur au milieu des hommes tous en costumes gris.
ReplyDeletePaloma.
White must have been the color of the day for the ladies. Both ladies look good.

The color suits her well. The pantsuit doesn't look attractive. I love the idea of the pantsuit. Its the fit that's a problem, baggy and ill fitting. The positive is the fact she is leaning towards a pantsuit style and of this color. The lady 2nd from left in the 2nd last photo, looks fabulous. This pantsuit looks stylish and smart, fits well and she looks elegant. Unfortunately it shows how ill fitting Stephanie's outfit looks.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly; the other lady in white demonstrates how important it’s to wear a proper size/fit
DeleteRelooking I see that the proportion is off because of the length of the jacket on her. Sometimes people think if they cover the widest part of their body it hides rather than draws attention to it. I make that error all the time.
