King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark are undertaking a two-day state visit to Lithuania at the invitation of the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda. On January 28, 2026, King Frederik and Queen Mary were officially welcomed by President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė at the Presidential Palace in Vilnius, where the reception of the Royal Couple continued indoors.
Queen Mary, together with First Lady Diana Nausėdienė, visited the Ukrainian Centre in Vilnius. The Ukrainian Centre is a social and cultural meeting place for Ukrainian children and families living in Lithuania. On the occasion, Queen Mary wore a new floral jacquard blazer and matching floral jacquard pencil skirt by Erdem.

I know Princess Catherine has a similar suit. I wonder if QM had swapped her boots for pumps the outfit might have had a more finesse finish. I do like the white scarf under the jacket.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Just as long as she is not wearing the shoes the model is wearing. LOL!
DeleteYes, I was thinking the same. This outfit is not suitable for boots and needs to be matched with delicate shoes.
DeleteFashion must be practical for real humans - and boots make much better sense in frozen landscapes. It’s simply not all about style but what makes a human feel comfortable, safe, warm and professional! Boots are terrific in northern winters and there’s no debate on that! Love this suit and love it paired with winter boots.
DeleteCatherine wore it to commonwealth day 2023, it was customised to her style; full length skirts and ruffled jacket

Anon 07:46. Thank you for being the voice of reason, I totally agree with you.
DeleteI concur, @ Anonymous 07:46.
DeletePracticality is the main concern when having to go out in frozen landscapes and winter boots are a clever and stylish choice.
Unfortunately, I don't have much time to comment on all the posts related to Danish Royal Couple state visits to Estonia and Lithuania
(fashionwise)
I just scrolled the wonderful array of pics and don't think that suede is the right material for boots if you have to walk in the snow.
Leather is much better and waterproof.
Queen Mary is smashing in both her gala dinner outfits, excellent tailoring and jaw - dropping jewellery, not to mention her makeup applied to perfection.
The ruby red gown is simply magnificent, exquisite design and fitting , which are the typical features found in all of the Elie Saab creations I know.
Mary's daytime ensembles are equally classy and she looks rightly well rugged up as required in such cold weather.
King Frederick and the Presidential Couples of both Baltic countries look well groomed and dressed throughout the state visits, too.
Well done to all of them.
I love the cut, style and fit of the jacket, and also of the skirt, but I don't much care for the print of the fabric of both. Perhaps it looks better up close. A different fabric pattern, or even plain soft velvet, would have been better. Otherwise, the outfit looks perfect for a lower-key arrival for a state visit, and Mary wears it well.

Nice fit however it is not her best look. I find the white scarf is too much of a contrast and closes up the neck too much. Boots are nice but I feel this suit needs nice pumps. Given it is cold and she is walking outdoors Imguees they are appropriate. The shoes on the model, yikes, really how can that be fashion.
ReplyDeleteCet ensemble a une belle coupe mais je ne suis pas fan de son imprimé fleuri
ReplyDeleteLa Première dame porte un tailleur dont j’adore la couleur verte !
ReplyDeleteI have never been a fan of Erdem clothes. The print on this two pieces is looking so old fashion. How long ago (3 years at least) this kind of flower print is out of fashion. The boots are not adding interest. Was there no possibility to change shoes once she was inside the building ? Does she has an assistant who is travelling with her to wear her bags (with shoes) when she must change the boots. The president's wife is wearing a beautiful green set composed of a lovely jacket and skirt (or dress ?).
ReplyDeleteThe print of the fabric does not appeal to me. Regardless the Erdem two piece suit does look good, fits well. Personally I am not a fan of this fashion line. What stands out to me is the green ensemble the First Lady is wearing. This outfit looks stellar, warm and fits beautifully. This shade of green, I love. Its beautiful color.
