On January 18, 2026, Queen Sonja of Norway attended a church service at the Seamen’s Church in France, located in Le Vésinet outside Paris. The service marked the 30th anniversary of the church, which bears the name “Queen Sonja’s Church and Cultural Centre” and was inaugurated by the Queen herself in 1996.
Following the service, the Queen met with representatives of the church’s community for discussions during the anniversary celebration. The building, commonly known as the Seamen’s Church in Paris (Dronning Sonja Kirke- og Kultursenter), has recently undergone a significant renovation.
