The launch of the Global Appeal 2026 took place in Brussels, Belgium. On 29 January 2026, as part of the Global Appeal 2026 to End Stigma and Discrimination against Persons Affected by Leprosy, Queen Mathilde received representatives of international organisations committed to combating stigma and discrimination against people affected by leprosy.
Global Appeal 2026 is an initiative of Education International and the Sasakawa Leprosy Initiative, in partnership with the Damien Foundation. It brings together people affected by leprosy with researchers, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and civil society organisations, working together towards a world free from stigma. For the occasion, Queen Mathilde wore a green dress by Natan.
NATAN Green Dress
Queen Mathilde is wearing a green dress she wore for the first time in October 2018 when on state visit in Germany. She wore also her emerald and diamond earrings and green shoes. In the room in the Royal Palace in Brussels I see a picture (a black and white photo of Queen Elisabeth, king Philippe's great grandmother, I think it is not a painting) ref.: Pic. N°2. I find Queen Mathilde is still looking good (even better than in 2018) in this green dress.
ردحذفGosh a great colour for her. I am not a fan of the oversized collar, just a tad smaller would not be as overwhelming.
