From January 27 to 29, 2026, King Frederik and Queen Mary will pay state visits to Estonia and Lithuania. The King and Queen paid the first of three state visits to the Baltic countries in Latvia in October 2025. Denmark has strong historical ties with all three countries and first established diplomatic relations with them in 1921.
King Frederik and Queen Mary will first visit Estonia from January 27 to 28. The official programme will include a formal welcome ceremony, a state banquet with a concert, and meetings with Estonian President Alar Karis and First Lady Sirje Karis, as well as with the Prime Minister and Parliament.
The King and Queen will then visit Lithuania from January 28 to 29. The official programme will include a wreath-laying ceremony at Antakalnis Cemetery, a state banquet, and meetings with President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė, as well as the Prime Minister and Parliament. The state visit will conclude with the opening of the exhibition “Friends in Need” on Denmark and Lithuania at the National Library in Vilnius.

Absolutely love pic 1. Can anyone remember where/when? Of all the jewels Mary wears, my utter favourite will always remain this ruby crown and I remember so well how she dressed with it and her red gown the night before their wedding at their gala concert.
