King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the site of the railway accident in Adamuz

On January 20, 2026, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain visited the site of the railway accident in Adamuz and met with those injured who are currently receiving treatment in hospital. During their visit, they met with psychologists and healthcare professionals caring for the victims’ families at the Poniente Sur Civic Center in Córdoba, and later visited the Reina Sofía Hospital to see the injured and their relatives.

The railway accident occurred on the evening of Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Adamuz, a small town near the city of Córdoba. Authorities say at least 41 people were killed and more than 120 injured when a train collided with a derailed train. Spain has declared three days of national mourning for the victims of the accident.

      Le roi et le reine font ce qu'ils doivent faire et ils ont raison d'être là.

    First a funeral now a devastating train accident. So nice to see the Royals there I hope it was an accident not a human error. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
