On Thursday, 29 January 2026, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan met with 14 recipients of the 2025 Emperor’s Cup of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Festival—an award presented to outstanding operators in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors—at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
The Emperor and Empress also viewed an exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Emperor’s Cup award recipients. The Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Festival is an event that recognises individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the promotion of Japan’s agricultural and seafood products through their dedication and efforts.
The pantsuit is so perfect and the color very flattering to the Empress. And her hairstyle is very simple. She looks wonderful.

lol! I think it only looks like that because of the reflection of the light when the photos were taken. I think (but am not sure) that the floor tiles are black and so normally would not reflect anything when anyone was walking on them. :)

Good tailoring can make or break a look, and the Empress suit is perfect tailoring. The trouser is just skimming the shoe,rather than dragging on the floor. The color is lovely, I love the satin lapels,it gives the look another dimension.
