On the final day of their state visit to Suriname, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, together with President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, took a boat tour along the Suriname and Commewijne rivers. During the trip, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima heard about the spiritual, economic, and ecological significance of the river waters and the mangrove forests for the people of Suriname.
The King and Queen also visited the village of Johan & Margaretha, on the northeastern bank of the Commewijne River in the Commewijne district, once an important plantation area. Here, they viewed a diorama entitled Life at the Plantation by Aruban-Surinamese artist Rita Maasdamme, which depicts life in Suriname during the colonial era.
The third and final day of the state visit concluded with a reception for the Dutch community in Suriname. At the official residence, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima met with Dutch nationals living and/or working in the country.

The king's tropical suit, worn with a fine-weave panama hat, is a welcome sight; I always enjoy seeing royal men wearing formal day wear that isn't the usual dark suit.
ردحذفMaxima's dress is beautifully constructed. Video footage shows it holding its shape perfectly even in the breezy conditions of a river boat trip; and the curving contours of the sunhat are so stylish. The queen's earrings are an unusual design, and stunning.
However , although I can see that the bag was selected to match the earrings, I dont think the pairing works. A plain green bag, plus sandals without high ankle straps, would in my view complement the dress better. Lyra
I thought the same thing about the earrings and bag. They were chosen to compliment each other, not the dress so much.

ردحذفLa robe semble plaire à toutes, mais c'est non pour moi. J'aime bien leurs chapeaux de paille. C'est rare de voir le roi en costume clair, ça lui va bien et ça change de son éternel costume bleu marine.

I think the colour of the very classic dress is too bleak form., and the green earrings cannot enhance the colourless impression.
ردحذفIf Queen Mathilde would have worn the Zimmermann dress, everyone would have said that the waistline was too high. Here the waistline of the dress is also too high for Queen Maxima. She does not have a high natural waistline but the dress made it look like that. In fact all the Zimmermann dresses have a more or less too high waistline. I do not like the handbag either. Queen Maxima and her daughters have a lot of handbags, which they are lending from each other. I am sure there must be at least one which is matching the dress. King Willem Alexander is looking good with his white hat.

ردحذفThe Zimmerman dress would fit nicely into a 1950`s garden fete in both style and print pattern, should have been left in the wardrobe. The dark dress looks as though it may have potential, and as someone mentioned previously the hair extensions are obvious. She should not wear shoes with ankle straps as they do not flatter anyone except those with the most slender and shapely legs.
ردحذفI like the seperate parts of this outfit (dress, earrings, bag), but not the combination of these pieces. And those shoes are horrible and do nothing for this outfit and cut of her leg at a point that make her legs look bigger than they are.
ردحذفThe Australian Zimmerman brand dress looks great. I love the skirt of the dress, nice swish! and movement. Up close the fabric pattern is so pretty, I love this. The style of the dress, sleeves, neckline, I like the overall look immensely.
