  1. On my screen 2 photos show her outfit gray, the. In the 3rd it is teal or green. Regardless it fits well, and her hair has a lovley soft curl.

    1. Would you mind writing a slightly fuller comment if writing comment as this one is not conveying any meaning !?

  3. How wonderful she could have her hair done in a lovely fashion for a magazine article.

    1. I thought the same thing, too bad she can't be bothered to do that for her engagements with the general population.

    2. So sad that these comments can not only be considered but posted.

    3. I agree 23:42. Dear commenters who write hurtful comments: don’t.

    4. Perhaps there was a magazine stylist who did her hair for the photo shoot. She looks great. To Anon 23 47 and 10 37, I’m a huge fan of Queen Maxima, but the comments are perfectly valid. It’s pretty dull if everyone agrees and the ignore
Did mildly catty comment is often amusing

    5. Hi 22:58, nice to read your perspective, thanks! I’d say the problem with the catty comments is that it’s an international readership so for non mother tongue English speakers or for those from different cultures, the cattiness comes across as meanness. Humour of subtle or catty types just doesn’t translate cross culturally or amongst strangers when we can’t see the writer’s face; so doesn’t work here, ever, as far as I see across the many years.

  4. Wow, fabulous outfit….this is how you do monochrome that is modern and chic! Perfect fit and length on the pants. Not sure exactly the shade of green because of the different lighting in the photos, but the olive green is really gorgeous.

  7. The pants look good, they fit well, great length. I love the blouse, the neckline is unusual, I like this adding interest. Her hair and makeup are on point. She looks beautiful. This is a fabulous outfit and very appropriate for this occasion. I do love the monochrome look, it really works well here.

  8. The pants look good but the top doesn't fit right, way to blousy. Hair looks better than usual, she should keep this hairdresser.

  9. Que ce soit en vert bronze ou vert canard, ce sont des couleurs qui lui conviennent à merveille !

  10. I find it very interesting how Queen Maxima told about the pieces which are conserved in the Royal House Archive next to Noordeinde Palace their home.
About Queen Emma who collected valuable pieces of lace, Queen Beatrix who was an art lover and collected a big amount of paintings by famous Dutch painters during history, how she Queen Maxima will add in due time several modern paintings by contemporary (Dutch) painters which she likes. She spoke also about the curtains they had made and which are hanging in their dining room since a couple of years. They are made of silk on which Japanese drawings are painted and embroidered according old Japanese techniques.
Love her outfit no matter which color. I had a similar one for Christmas. Mine has the same green color as on the first two pictures. I just wore a thin golden chain (necklace) on the top (mine has a simple round flat neckline).

    1. A slight correction. The palace "op het Noordeinde" is not their home but their offices and used for many ceremonial duties. Their home is "Huis ten Bosch" a few kilometres away and not in the middle of the Hague like the Noordeinde palace but in a very large park next to a public park and although very close to the centre of the Hague in very country like surroundings. Not really a fashion subject I know but quite interesting too.

You are right of course. I always mix up the names of both palaces.
      Sorry.

Paloma.

  12. For me I like the blousy effect as the fabric is thin. Much better to wear the clothes than have the clothes wear you.

Queen Maxima looks like a model in photo #2. Stunning, elegant and very chic. Looking back at photos over the past decade+, Maxima has worked hard to get this look and I admire her for doing so. She is a good role model for other royal ladies to follow - younger and older. And she has not sacrificed her sense of humor, dedication and noted interest in her many public events she attends. She has come a long way in achieving such regal bearing.

  15. Wow, ravishing, wonderful - definitely not. Make up and hair probably thanks to Volkskrant, her outfit is nothing out of the ordinary, I have similar as many others may. @ 00.17 ' a good role model for other royal ladies to follow' who exactly? There are many from whom Maxima could learn about being royal.
