On December 17, 2025, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended the premiere of the film “Blij dat je betaald hebt” (Glad You Paid) at Theater Diligentia in The Hague. The film was created as educational material for the financial education program “Bank voor de Klas”, an initiative of the Dutch Banking Association (NVB).
In the 20-minute film, young actors guide viewers through the financial challenges that young people often face, including debt, financial temptations, and the risks of buy-now-pay-later schemes.Queen Máxima is the honorary chair of Wijzer in geldzaken and SFGN.
Natan Outfit
A well-intentioned, but messy set. The bare toes of the shoes... She compensates for this with her friendly smile, but left or right she is the queen, so a little more effort suits this position!

DeleteI've been stating this for years, her position in life requires her to put more effort into her public outing outfits, hair care, etc. It is almost as if she is thumbing her nose at the general public when she shows up for engagements with messy stringy hair, and outfits that are thrown together and not appropriate.
DeleteWhere do you see bare toes ? I clicked on every picture but all I can see are cognac colored leather shoes with a shiny point. The shoes are polished shiny.

ReplyDeleteShe looks lovely in this colour, not my taste, but fine for her. Now the coat I had hoped she would have left it in the closet. It matches well and is probably warm, but the shaggy/brushed look is a no for me.
ReplyDelete@16.47 - totally agree. If I had spent a long time organising an event only for Q. Maxima to arrive with dishevelled hair and 'thrown together outfits' I would feel insulted. So many disparaging remarks made about Q. Sonya's yellow gown, her design I believe and beautiful although a little dated, but for some contributors Maxima's smile negates her often awful choices.
ReplyDeleteThe clothes may not be to your taste, but the colours go together, the trousers and the blouse match particularly nicely, so I think it is a bit harsh to claim Máxima has just “thrown this together” without thinking. She does have a problem with her hair, and I personally think a shorter bob would make her hair look much healthier, but if I met her looking like this, I would not be insulted in the least, but thrilled to see the smiley queen!
