The photos also feature the family's pet cat, Mimi. Princess Aiko and her family adopted the four-and-a-half-month-old female calico cat, naming her Mimi, in August after she was rescued by a local rescue group through a veterinary clinic.

Just imagine, swapping that big fat book for Mimi on her lap! :-)) - When she was younger, I always had the impression that she would prefer to hide away when on an outing. Now he seems much more sure of herself and I find Aiko's silent quiet discipline very likeable.

Mimi is so cute & lucky to get adopted by this caring family. I think CP Victoria had also wanted to be a veterinarian; life dictated otherwise. All the best to Aiko! ~~Ruthie

    愛子さまは10代の頃、獣医になりたいという夢を抱いていました。
    しかしそれは皇族である立場上、叶わない夢だと諦めたのです。

That is sad to hear. Would she be able to pursue her dreams once she is married and has left the royal family?

Aiko looks so poised in these pictures. She has a lovely, warm smile, like her parents.

I find in the first photo the colour not the best for her. The dark red is very nice but the tunic or whatever is distracting and not the best outfit, though it looks warm. Lovely young woman with a lovely smile,

Write to the Office of the Imperial Family if you think you really want an answer for this quite silly question.

Beautiful, intelligent your woman. Such a shame she could not pursue her veterinary goals. Both outfits are lovely, details including color, classic. Also nice to see the family adopted, rather than purchased a cat.
