On December 2, 2025, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited Walloon Brabant for a provincial visit focused on innovation and emergency services. In Nivelles, the King and Queen visited CAP Innove, which has been supporting start-ups for 40 years in the fields of sustainability, food, and autonomous systems. There, they met entrepreneurs, explored the centre, and attended a drone demonstration.

It’s a no from me too.. I like the too but the strange mix of colours is not at all becoming, Armani or not!

The coat looks better without the pale blue hat as previously worn.

    1. I agree, I like it better without a hat, but a rather nice hair styling. IMV nice originality, provided she doesn't wear it too often.

I never liked this coat, Armani or not. The upper part in grey and blue print looks lovely, but the colors which change to end with pink doesn't work in the version Queen Mathilde is wearing. The coat worn by the model however looks better. The shape is different and more up-to-date, the fabric looks more shiny which influence the colors for the better. The beautiful brooch, bought at an auction, is placed on the same spot of the coat as when she wore it the first time.
King Philippe seems to like the drone demonstration.

I think the model's coat is more united or connected, the grey of the upper part appears in the lower part. Mathilde's version looks like a riddle: "look at me, am I a two-piece of am I a coat?" and a riddle to be solved, an ambiguity, is not what I at least expect when looking at an outfit.

And yes, King Philippe ejects a rare facial demonstration of being pleased.

I have completely the opposite opinion. So funny! I think the model looks terrible and Mathilde looks beautiful. Her shape isn’t always easy to dress with her super long legs hence high waist, but this coat flatters her almost better than any other garment I’ve seen her in. Furthermore I think the upper colours are incredibly flattering for her beautiful face.

    4. Agree with 23:27, flattering for her.

It is not fair towards King Philippe to say he has a rare facial expression of being pleased. He is known by those who know him personally as a very friendly and empathic man. King Philippe as his father King Albert and uncle King Baudouin all were extremely interested in applied sciences being cars and all sorts of mechanical and electronic machinery. Also Prince Laurent has the same interests.
There is also another reason why King Philippe sometimes can look less pleased, a reason which is not known by many people. Since about 1-2 years he is suffering from one of his hips. On doctors advice it is forbidden for him to do certain sports like hard running in the parc of Laeken and maybe some other sports he favoured before.
Two different things he inherited from his ancestors : the interest in everything what is machinery or electronics and the artrosis and/or arthritis in the hips.

Wow! That dress line suits Mathilde exceedingly better; indeed better than it suits the model. A beautiful colour for her too and a delightful hem length.

Oh, I want to love this coat….if it was either blue & gray or gray & pink, then voila!

The fit is lovely, however I think I would have preferred more gray in the skirt. Not a favourite combination.

I like the collar of the coat, but not those colors in the coat -- the 6th photo of the Queen and King seated is lovely. Wish the coat was solid in that top color and without the hat.
The King is a stylish and dapper dresser - very fitting for his role.

  8. The coat looks good, not so sure about the color combination, but regardless, its very effective. Love the color of her bag. She looks delightful.

I love this haute couture coat-dress for Mathilde. The photo where she is wearing it with full accessories -- matching hat, glove sand shoes -- is perfection.
But take those accessories away and something essential is lost. The outfit loses impact without the hat and gloves; the more casual vibe of the emergency clinic, (no hat or gloves required) doesn't seem to harmonise with with the high-end oriental luxury of the jacquard. I feel that a somewhat less formal fabric and garment would have better suited the requirements of this engagement. Lyra

I think the model looks just awful — granted it’s a slightly different design, but the overall effect is dumpy, schlumpy, a complete fail. Mathilde, otoh, wears this garment beautifully and looks great — but I agree that the unusual color interplay, while creative, confuses the eye, giving the appearance of a fitted jacket worn with a dress or skirt.

This queen ( and Armani) seldom disappoints,: beautifull coat. The collar is very becoming and without a hat is better.

  12. La coupe de ce manteau est parfaite mais j'aurais préféré que la jupe soit de la même couleur que le haut !

Oh dear I am not sure the jacket and skirt really go well together - Mathilde is lovely but this is a no from me. The bottom half seems very summery while the King is dressed for winter!
