On December 16, 2025, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid a Christmas visit to the non-profit organization Samana at the holiday and recovery center Ter Duinen in Nieuwpoort. The visit by the King and Queen marks the conclusion of a double anniversary year: in 2025, Samana celebrates its 75th anniversary, and Ter Duinen its 40th anniversary.
With the support of 25,000 volunteers, Samana organizes home visits, social gatherings, tailor-made holidays, and training programs across Flanders for people with chronic illnesses or high care needs, as well as for their caregivers.

Splendid, very smart indeed.

DeleteThat's a lovely outfit on Mathilde (great colour) and I love the coat too.

Cet élégant manteau s’accorde très bien avec la couleur de son tailleur ; les
ReplyDeleteboucles d’oreilles ont été choisies judicieusement !
Looking good. How sweet being greeted by a little Santa.

The rich dark plum color suits the Queen. Fits perfectly. The coat looks great, the pattern of the coat, I am not so keen on but I do like the coat.
ReplyDeleteVery good!
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde took an old coat out of her dressing room. She wore it for the first time in October 2015 at a state visit to Poland. When I compare it with the pictures of today the lower part of the coat looks less wide today than before.
ReplyDeleteThe burgundy pants and top are new as well as the burgundy leather clutch by Belgian brand "Voort Studio". During spring and summer she wears the same clutch in the color "concrete". Couldn't find out if the earrings are new. I never saw them before.
I like the combination of the burgundy suit with the coat in which one can find the same burgundy color.
I agree, it’s great to see her rewear this coat, and it does look slimmer now, whether altered or just styled differently. The new burgundy outfit pairs beautifully with it, and the Voort Studio clutch is a perfect match. The earrings also seem unfamiliar, so they may well be new. Overall, a very harmonious look.
DeleteSo lovely! The handbag Queen Mathilde is wearing is Voort Studio, the Emmanuelle handbag in Bordeaux.
ReplyDeleteElegant outfit in a beautiful color and genuine engagement with the people they’re visiting.
ReplyDeleteTer Duinen is a beautiful Recovery centre in Nieuwpoort (Belgian Coast). I went visiting my mother in law there after she had been in hospital and the doctors adviced her to go for a week or 2 in Ter Duinen before going home. It is like being in a holiday centre (hotel). Patients who cannot walk are going out in a wheel chair pushed by nurses who are going to the beach with them to take fresh air.
DeleteI already gave a comment on Queen Mathilde's outfit at 07:11 so I am leaving now otherwise some other commenters say I am telling too long stories.
I have mixed views about the coat.
DeleteNot thrilled about the coat, pattern, fit, etc. Earrings, way too large, tacky looking.
ReplyDeleteLovely coat. She should have left it open though. Or at least not tied the belt.

Why ? A coat with buttons is supposed to wear buttonned up and she came from outside. When she wears one of her capes it is not good too. One can always find something to criticize.
