On December 17, 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary welcomed employees of the Royal Household and close collaborators to a Christmas reception held in the Great Hall at Christiansborg Palace. Also in attendance were Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Her Majesty Queen Margrethe. Around 450 guests gathered for the event.

A six-meter-tall Christmas tree stood in the Great Hall. The carpet around the base of the tree was designed by Queen Mary, and the Christmas tree carpet was sewn at the Workshop House at Amalienborg. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a short-sleeve midi dress by Rebecca Vallance, and Princess Isabella wore a stretch crepe jacket by Fold.

  1. I love the sparkly collar on Mary's dress. It adds a little bit of glamour to a plain, black dress without going over the top. No other jewellry or accessories are needed. Isabella's pantsuit looks great in that gorgeous fuschia colour and the lacy top inside looks nice but I think I prefer it without as shown on the model. The colour is so vibrant that the suit stands out on it's own.

  2. I rather like this dress with the interesting collar, but I do miss a brooch of some kind, she is the queen consort. I have see queen Margrethe‘s outfit too much and do not fancy the design, although the colours are in harmony with Christmas and the Dannebrog.

  6. The Rebecca Vallance dresses seem to be the new must have among the royal ladies. I prefer the one CP Elisabeth wore because the skirt of the dress is a pencil skirt which looks better for a young lady.
Princess Isabella's pant suit looks good. The light in the palace is so dark one cannot see the beautiful color as on the model. On my screen the one the princess is wearing looks burgundy. I also discovered on the last picture of CP Christian with his mother Queen Mary that he wore a striped brown suit. A bit of an odd choice for a young man. I never see other young men wearing suits in a fabric like this. They are all preferring black, navy or dark grey plain suits especially now with the Christmas and New Year's reception and diners.

  8. Isabella suit has a look of the Emilia Wickstead suit that the PoW wore a few years back. The Fold is a popular choice with QM she has a few their pieces in her closet. The black lace trim is I think from her Moms closet and looks perfectly stylish under the jacket.
Rebecca Vallace seems to be the new go to with our royal ladies. I had only ever seen Zara Tindall in her designs and now we get to see snd enjoy our royal ladies wear her designs.
So lovely to see QM2 at the event. She still has warm welcoming smile. She looks so well.
All the men look very dapper in their suits.

  10. This (looks to be navy color on my screen) Navy dress with glitter collar is beautiful. I like this very much. The collar is an interesting feature and a welcome addition, adding interest and color. I too, would have loved a brooch!
