  1. The photos of GDS seem to be full of smiles since the coronation and it’s so great to see! I’ve been following the couple since their wedding (and the Elie Saab she wore is one of my all-time favorite royal wedding gowns) and it seems there’s been a shift in seeing their personalities come so much stronger now. Love to see it!

    1. So true...I've also noticed. Plus she dresses extremely elegantly, with an appropriate style for each occasion, very formal and elegant when required, and casual yet elegant as today, to be with her follow citizens, not above but sincerely with them. There is something deep very sincere with her....I like her approach very much so.

  4. The cream poncho suits her so well -- and with her hair down, is just the right touch of casual coziness for a Christmas lunch. Great choice Stephanie! Lyra

  5. I think GD Stéphanie is not dressed like a grand duchess should be. GD Guillaume is dressed casual but as far as I can see he is wearing a suit or a jacket with pants. GD Stéphanie could at least have worn a jacket instead of this poncho with another sweater underneath which is not elegant at all. Her hair is not well separated in the middle and she is wearing (almost) no make-up. The color of the sweater is too pale for her rather pale face. The shoulder bag is classic and lovely. The other ladies who are at the same table as she or in the background of the photos are dressed in a better city style than she is.

    1. Dear 9:15, I wonder where you have received the notion of “what a grand duchess should wear”? From stories and movies perhaps? I think the reality is that the grand duchess is an individual with her own ideas - but also extremely knowledgable about her country and culture and very well informed and advised. Not wearing makeup is very common in Europe and she has no legal requirement to wear more! I personally think her poncho is fabulous and flattering, and cannot see how a jacket would have been better, esp visiting young people who are predominantly in tshirts! I think she’s getting all her outfits spot on recently … and if there’s something I don’t like well then I say, she’s grand duchess and I’m not, so surely she knows her role better than I do!

The young people who are all wearing the same T-shirts are the volunteers who are helping with the distribution of clothing and other essential items to the 650 guests. On pictures N° 1 & 2, I see people in normal city wear like a coat and a suit probably the minister and local officials who are there because they are invited each year and because they are belonging to the people who are giving a contribution to pay for all the goods which have been acquired to distribute to those who need it. On picture N°4 there are ladies who are sitting on the same table as GD Stéphanie in normal city clothes.
I do not find it normal that she is the only one who is dressed like a mom who is going with her kids to the play garden or a parc.
I am living in Europe too and the people I know are all wearing good clothes like woolen winter coats, or padded coats, with a woolen dress or pants and a jacket or sweater underneath. And yes we wear a touch of make-up not much but at least we are looking fresh and well dressed.

If I were a royal doing the top job and visiting a centre promoting integration for disadvantaged people (read the caption , please), I wouldn't show up dressed in haute couture clothes, bejeweled and with the best of makeup on my face.
      What for?
To make those people feel embarassed and belittled?
That would be an unforgettable lack of sensitivity from me.
I would show up with my natural self, engaging, empathy being my only garment.
I would make my best to create a connection with them and that's what they would expect from me: being encouraged and understood.

  6. Pour cette occasion particulière, Stéphanie a su choisir une tenue décontractée mais élégante ; j’adore la couleur de son poncho !

  7. I don´t like her bag. It looks cheap and not very well chosen. Very casual look. CC
