On the occasion of Christmas and the New Year, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa shared new family photographs from the private collections of herself and Princess Claire, wishing everyone a happy New Year. The photographs feature Grand Duke Henri, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Prince Félix, Princess Claire, Princess Amalia, Prince Liam, Prince Balthazar, Prince Louis, Prince Noah, Prince Gabriel, and Prince Sébastien.

Forgive my confusion, but where is the rest of the family? Claire resembles Morticia in the last photo, it’s the long hair and feathers in the sleeves, Rem
ReplyDeleteThe Grandduke and the Grandduchess were with their two sons in their own home. Princess Alexandra, who had just recently given birth to her second child, celebrated most likely at their home. They all perhaps joined the family on some other day. Quite common for the Christmas holidays in Europe (there are two complete days off, plus half a day - in most cases - on Christmas Eve). Travelling around to visit family is very often done then.
DeleteThat not nice
DeleteIf you have a big family it is not always easy to have everyone on the same spot, on the same day.
DeleteWhy does everyone in the family have to be in the same photo? ~~Ruthie
DeleteAgree !!
DeleteYou can be confused - though still kind.

DeleteIn my European country during the Christmas and New Year's period most people are taking the holidays which they have not taken during the year which is almost over, being 2025. If you don't take them at the end of the year they are lost. Most companies do not like their employees have still holidays from the year before. The rules are not the same in all the companies, government institutions, federal and public services, etc...Travelling around to see other family members is not always easy. Everything depends on how far the distance is between them. In many big families it is the custom now to spread the family gatherings in 2 or more parts over the year. Not everything must be concentrated on the same spot on the same day. In little families if everyone is living not too far away it is easier, everyone can see each other on the same date.
Indeed!!! Family is ALL of them!?!?!?!?
DeleteImagine choosing to share a photo of your Christmas that you enjoyed and strangers criticising it because they find it imperfect??? Outrageous.
DeleteWhen there are babies and toddlers, everything changes about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day get-togethers. Christine
DeleteConfusion is easily confused for snarky comments. However, I too wonder where the rest of the family is, yet refrained from being rude.
DeleteDe bien belles photos où nous voyons que les enfants ont beaucoup grandi particulièrement le prince Balthazar ; il est vraiment trop craquant !
ReplyDeleteClaire and her family looks lovely unfortunately the ugly dog ruins the pic.
ReplyDeleteSome thoughts are really much better held privately that written on a public blog. This is one of them.
DeleteAwww…there are no ugly dogs!
Delete16:07 do you realise you’re talking about people with feelings who might be hurt by your comment?
DeleteSome "ugly" dogs are better than some ugly human personalities!
DeleteWell dressed casual for Christmas. Love seeing the uncle holding his little nephew. Great insight to a royal family Christmas.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your grandkids and retirement Duchess, well deserved.
ReplyDeleteSome of the families are there. I like Felix family's pic; little Balthazar is a cutie. Even the dog is there. Sebastians footwear is spelling comfort over everything.

I love these casual photos. The relaxed dress looking great! The Xmas tree looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThey clearly consider the dog part of the family, and the dog doesn’t seem to mind being held rather awkwardly. Doesn’t ruin the photo. -Sosi
ReplyDeleteThere is more than one Christmas tree in the castle which is decorated like this. The tree used as background for GD Guillaume Christmas speech is decorated in the same way.
ReplyDeleteThese are two different castles. These photos are taken from Schlass Bierg. Grand Duke Guillaume made his Christmas address from Groussherzogleche Palais.

Sorry it was not mentionned in which castle/palace the speech or the family gathering took place. So I didn't know, but the trees are decorated the same any way.
