The Duchess of Edinburgh arrived in the Commonwealth Realm of Belize on November 18, for a visit at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The Duchess visited the San Antonio Women’s Cooperative in San Antonio, where she learned about the Cooperative’s work in empowering women through traditional crafts and entrepreneurship.
The Duchess then arrived at the Laing Building, where she was received by Hon. John Briceño, Prime Minister of Belize, and Mrs. Rossana Briceño, Spouse of the Prime Minister and Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children.
The Duchess of Edinburgh also visited the Belize Council for the Visually Impaired (BCVI), where she was greeted by Mrs. Joan Musa, Executive President, and Mrs. Carla Ayres Musa, Executive Director. The Duchess learned about BCVI’s national impact and received a tour of the facility, including its diagnostic, eye care, and rehabilitation centres.
Later, the Duchess joined residents of Seine Bight Village for a vibrant Garifuna Settlement Day celebration, where she experienced the rich traditions, music, and dance that are an essential part of Belize’s cultural heritage. Her final engagement was at the Price Barracks Military Base, where she was received by the CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration (MFAFT) and the Acting Commander of the Belize Defence Force.

All these outfits look lovely. I like the top she has worn with the Hearst skirt (Sophie always looks nice in a casual open necked top) but if I had to pick a fav, it would be the Zimmerman dress (with and without the frill at the bottom), followed by the Lexy London dress. Love the neckline and it suits her.

The lexy dress looks like 2 water balloons in a sack, not the best look
ReplyDeleteWow that's pretty harsh.

Wow, she’s been travelling for many days (weeks?) now! Always smiling, always gracious. And as far as I see, no new outfits, no excess, just a suitcase of quality garments that she’s owned for a while, are pretty and neat. I really, really admire this!
ReplyDeleteAll outfits look lovely and fresh, but she needs an underskirt for the last dress.
ReplyDeleteLovely Lady, very pretty Outfits.
ReplyDeleteSophie´s travel outfits tend to be too informal and often look like she´s on vacation. I like the Zimmermann best (minus that ridiculous ruffle) and the Lexy dress second (minus the lowest tier of the skirt).
ReplyDeleteThe dresses suit her and look cool and comfortable. My favorite would have to be the Lexy London dress. This is very pretty, stylish and elegant. Lovely fit and pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This is the only outfit that looks really good. The others are all okay, at best, with the usual issues of length and footwear which doesn’t suit the dress. I think the Duchess does a sterling job but really wish she would make more of her good looks and choose outfits which suit her
DeleteI think the Duchess of Edinburgh did well on this trip. All her dresses were good.

Lovely looks for the heat in this part of the world--all look wonderful on Sophie! She's doing terrific work on behalf of the BRF and the UK gov't.

Nope. No real fashion here to comment on.
ReplyDeleteThen no need to comment! I love Sophie’s choices. I love that she has found her style and reuses her dresses multiple times like a normal person. They are all very sweet on her and we see her focus is on people and her causes.
DeleteVery lovely lady, performing her tasks admirably, and pretty dresses -- maybe for someone else, if excessive ruffles removed. - That she re-wears, is to be praised, her work and the impression she makes are to be praised, but a taste for what suits her personally she has not. - I mean, excuses don't have to be found if we talk fashion?
ReplyDeleteI agree that the rewears and her work are great. I disagree that she hasn’t found what suits her. These dresses do, and she clearly loves these styles and is comfortable in them. She doesn’t need to change to “be fashionable” when there are SO many varied cultures in fashion.
DeleteBeaucoup de fraicheur dans ces robes mais je préfère le modèle Suzannah tout à fait dans mes goûts !
ReplyDeleteI love the Lexi dress on Sophie. Colour and style just perfect for her.
ReplyDeleteI personally don’t understand her fashion choices that make her look so much older and heavier than she is, but she is clearly not going to change. She’s an English country woman.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. An English country woman with no sense of style.
DeleteNice dresses.

One note that doesn’t change.
