@19:53 This is one of the worst dresses she could wear. Her hair-topper is a disaster & doesn't even match with her own hair color, which is evident in several photos. However, I believe this lady wants to be stick thin & deliberately wears clothes that make her look even thinner than she is. I'll stop there. (If somebody doesn't like my comment, well, it's my opinion & I'm sticking with it.) ~~Ruthie

Ruthie I find your comment a bit presumptive! Catherine has been super sporty since first we knew her and continuously very slender. She’s recently been through cancer so I think we are generally staying away from criticising hair (she has long had fabulously voluminous hair but no one knows how her hair went in chemo so out of sensitivity we leave the topic), and the immense stress of going through cancer and cancer treatment leaves innumerable problems for a person to heal through well after treatment stops, so also out of sensitivity and kindness we don’t mention her weight. It is already such an ordeal; we don’t need to add to that by commenting on a public figure who has suffered and still recovers. Gentle kindness is really due to such people. I see you have an opinion regarding this - but for sure you can go for kindness when you reflect on suffering Ruthie.

@Ruthie ''Her hair-topper is a disaster & doesn't even match with her own hair color'' The summer sun caused that effect on her hair, most ladies would color it back but she let it take its natural course.

''I believe this lady wants to be stick thin & deliberately wears clothes that make her look even thinner than she is'' she has always been a slim lady, and has been through some tough times that would affect any human being's life!

She has been consistently slim throughout the years, only adding on the expected weight during her pregnancies. I don't see how you got the impression she is wearing a hair-topper!

Why she continues to wear dresses which make her look even thinner than she is ? She could easily wear dresses which have much more volume with wide skirts and broader sleeves. Or the new style of jackets which are shorter and wider. Of course she must wear what she likes, but this is how I see it could be (IMO).

I try but I cannot love this very angular, "hard" dress. I think of her beautiful green evening gown last week - softness everywhere. And soft contours/lines do not have to be the privilege of an evening gown, do they? The angularness begins at the pointed collars on a very high very closed neckline. Maybe a leather belt could have interrupted the pattern as well as the whole columnal impression, and, of course, the fashionable length does not do any good for her and especially for this very closed-up, cold, tight dress with a "hard" pattern. I don't like it at all - and again: not because of her being thin, I probably would not like this one on anyone else.

Regarding the dress: it would look better in knee length. I would definitely have it shortened a bit.
Regarding the other thing: Catherine has always been slim and is even slimmer due to the illness she is recovering from. The palace never officially announced what type of cancer it was, only that it was in the "abdominal area".
When I was visiting my (now deceased) mother-in-law in the oncology department at the hospital, I met several patients who had a similar diagnosis - they all had significant weight loss and it affected them very much physically and mentally. Therefore, I know that references to someone being as straight as a stick or a long chimney hurt them.
I too also criticize all sorts of things about fashion and style and fashion taste of royal ladies (shaggy hairstyles, wrong dress size, theatrical circus earrings, etc., etc.), but never a body marked by illness.

As far I can read in the other comments nobody called her "straight as a stick" or "a long chimey", we just said that this dress made her look even more skinny. We talked about the dress not about her. Maybe there are several people among the commenters who also have cancer patients in their family. If somebody has to look after a cancer patient he/she knows how it is. There are several ways to support any patient after a severe illness. If she is surrounded by the right persons who can make different suggestions of what to choose in her dressing room it doesn't have to be painfull.

Catherine has always had a slim physique, but post illness she seems frail. She’s still recovering from her treatment.
Her hair is far too long. She insists on wearing it loose and dangling over shoulders. I wish she’d take the extra care and style it in a more professional way.

The illness she has suffered from, takes a big toll on the body , it takes a lot of time to regain strength and recover. I have witnessed this with both my parents, taking years. After having seen certain comments about the Princess, the changes physically. I'm sure she is doing the best she can, her medical team would also be monitoring her. There is no quick fix. We’re all sorry about her illness. It’s daunting. It is remarkable she keeps going. The dress is doing her no favours. Although it’s a Wickstead, it doesn’t look like it’s done to measure. Which is a bit surprising. Certainly a shorter hemline would have helped, but it also needed some sort of juxtaposition between either some volume on the bottom part and fitted upper section or the other way around. As it is this cut laves something to be wanted.

The dress doesn't look good on Catherine. I've said before that when it comes to style, it's essential to choose clothes that look good on the person wearing them. There's nothing wrong with that dress, and of course there's nothing wrong with Catherine's figure, but the dress just doesn't suit her. C has a body type very similar to most top models, but she often chooses clothes that don't flatter her. Because of her poor choices, she doesn't look as good as she could. -Siri

I never fail to be disappointed in the comments. It is never appropriate is discuss a person's body. In all seriousness, how do so many of you not understand this? Why is it so triggering when a woman is thin? It does not mean that there is anything wrong--some people are naturally thin and some people are genetically bigger. Some people cannot gain weight no matter how hard they try. We never know, and have no right to know, what is behind a person's weight. It isn't any of our business. These comments are so alarming because they they primarily focus on thin people, not so much when people are overweight. It is understood that it is terribly rude to body shame a fat person, but the rule applies to skinny people as well. (Body shaming is remarking on a PERCEIVED flaw with a person's body.) Culturally, we have become accustomed to people carrying more weight than they did a few generations ago. Just because we have become used to seeing people carry more weight does not mean that there is anything wrong with people that are smaller. In most cases, thinner people are healthier than the people that are overweight.

Regarding Catherine's dress : it is a column dress, designed to look linear. Catherine has the body for this style. She is one of the few royals that can wear this dress. Why should she wear frumpy, voluminous clothes to hide her body? Because you are bothered?

Stop commenting on her weight with the excuse that you are concerned for her health. You act as though she has no access to medical care and no one in her life to care for her or notice if something may be wrong. On the contrary, she has all that and more. She has a big loving family that care for her deeply and the best medical care available to her. Because of her medical history, she is more closely monitored than the average person. If there was anything wrong, her doctors and family would be the first to know she would be well cared for. Comments from nosy strangers only serve to make things worse.

I hope to see a change here where this site follows a few others and bans comments that target the body, not the clothes. I have great respect for the other sites that do and am losing respect for sites that are putting revenue over content. The longer this goes unchecked the worse it will get.

I do agree with your eloquent and factual comment.
This is a very rare case when I feel I am on the same wavelength as another commenter's on this blog.
You wrote a perfectly articulated outline, presenting mere facts, not that boring, nasty blathering I have seen on so many occasions on this blog.
      Kudos to you!
I noticed that even a serious illness like cancer and its devasting effects on patients's bodies isn't considered worth some respect and empathy by so many readers.
As to the column dress: I bet many readers here don't even know what basic clothes designs consist of so they focus on bodies to hide their lack of fashion knowledge.
Why should Catherine cover her body in large garments?
Why should she be ashamed of her body for the way It looks now?
      It is just insane!
Just a simple addition: I have a totally different body frame from Princess Catherine's though I am as tall as she is (1,77) but I would have never dared to judge her appearance without any basic sensitiveness
I respect all sick people and I praise Catherine for still being able to smile and perform her royal duties despite the severe illness she has gone through.
Nobody knows how she really feels.
She remains beautiful inside and out, no matter what people say, and will make a wonderful Queen one day.
Nor can I take seriously for a single moment the "genuine worrying" about some royal ladies' thinness.
It sounds like another attempt at disguising bullying- just like the
" Freedom of speech and thought" pointless refrain-, as Is the case with Princess Charlene.
Queen Letizia and Queen Maxima seem to be other easy- to- hit targets for haters here.
Lastly, yes, I am increasingly taking a distance from this blog due to the the way hate speech is allowed to get past the filter.
If the blog adminisrators keep on accepting all this nastiness, I will disappear forever.
I strongly reject the way bodyshaming and bullying are tolerated on this blog.
The more they are accepted , the more some readers will feel encouraged to vent their meanness and rudeness when commenting on royal ladies.
I still believe that bullying and hate speech on this platform basically stem from so many readers' body complexes and personal uneasiness.
I too am losing respect for sites that prioritize revenue over content and substance and, above all, human sensitiveness.

I appreciate that the Princess rewears her outfits. Other royals like her do rewear and are mindful of waste. But this is not Catherine’s best look mostly because it is too long. She tends to play it safe with classic outfits, nothing too daring in the last few years. I certainly prefer basic over others’ frumpy florals. But enough of her illness. Plenty of people, including the King continue working while in treatment. Get real: most people cannot afford to take off a year of work or have people caring for you to help pamper you through a severe illness. Catherine has always been thin, except during pregnancies, and I don’t think that will change.

28/11/25 20:19 made a comment about the PofW being "enviably thin." I believe that's the problem right there - envying thinness. There are thin people who can't gain weight no matter what and how much they eat. There are fat people that can't lose weight except through surgery or medications which curb appetite. But as a society (I'm from USA), we envy the thin. When a person dies from anorexia, there's always someone who will say, "But at least they were thin!" Let's stick to the clothing. Tookie C-pin

You know, I think that so many readers' basic problem on this site is envying royal ladies as such for what they are and what they have.
It is insane to envy a cancer survivor's body but it happens on this blog!
Just like saying: no limits to human madness.
      Incredibily sad and sickening imv.
