The Duchess of Edinburgh Visits RAW Workshop in Oxford

The Duchess wore a grey plaid wool blend double breasted blazer suit by Vince, and a burgundy cashmere sweater

On November 26, 2025, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited RAW Workshop, an Oxford-based social enterprise that employs people who face barriers to work. RAW provides training and meaningful job opportunities for those who struggle to gain a foothold in the labour market. The Duchess then visited the Windale Community Hub in Oxford. For the occasion, the Duchess wore a plaid wool-blend suit by Vince.

  2. She looks great. The eggplant color (or is it burgundy) complements the gray suit well. I like the handbag and her overall positive approach to her duties. She radiates peace and tranquility.

  3. Sophie est mieux en costume qu'en grande robe fleurie (à mon avis), même si ce pantalon semble un peu large pour elle. J'aime les bottines grises, et les touches de couleur cassis avec la pochette et le pull. Paloma.

  4. Great colours, I would only change the shoes, perhaps some burgund as well?

  5. Belle silhouette dans ce costume à la veste croisée Bordeaux comme sa pochette - J’aime la voir quand elle câline un toutou !

  6. Well done, Sophie. So much better than the overly long dresses with no shape she wore recently.

    1. For the countries and climates she visited, I think her loose dresses worked better than a suit. I like the start of this suit but but I do prefer beautiful dresses over suit trousers which the designer hasn’t cut to suit most women’s figures.

  7. What a pleasure to see her really well-dressed at last ... very nice. Except the shoes, but well ... minor quibble compared to all the ruffles and flowers she poured over foreign countries during her last journey.

  8. The pantsuit is a rewear and looks not bad, but the cut of the pants is not very good. There is too much fabric on the hips and upper legs. The top and handbag should have been in a lighter burgundy color to bring more contrast to the whole look. If she didn't had burgundy booties to wear with it, black ones would have looked better than these ones in grey/beige. Her hair is beautiful. I prefer this hairstyle for her than the up do's she usually wear in the neck. She looks younger with her hair like this and older with an up do.

  9. Great suit colour on Sophie. Looking at the model too, I don’t think the cut is particularly good for females, weird as it’s created for us!

  10. I think I prefer Duchess Sophie in pant suits. I think they look far more professional. This suit would have ticked all the boxes,if the trouser had been wide leg length rather than wide top and tapered bottom. The wide leg compliments a boxed jacket, giving the over all look more balance. I like the wine colored jumper and I like the grey boots. I never understand why people wear differing colored shoes/boots to the trouser. The same color gives the look fluidity.

  11. Major improvement and love the burgundy top and clutch! Burgundy shoes would have been much better than the gray, which makes the outfit look incomplete. The suit would be even more flattering as a single button closure and no pleats on the pants, but I’ll take this every time.

  12. This is so much better than her usual dresses. This is professional and certainly more polished. I do not like the color of her shoes. I find them distracting instead of complimenting the overall look. Her pants are too short. Wide legged pants really need to hit just above the ground. The sleeves of her sweater are a little too long for the jacket. These fine details are what Sophie misses that can mean the difference between a nice outfit and a fantastic outfit.

  13. The pantsuit looks wonderful. This outfit suits the Duchess beautifully. She looks stylish and elegant. I love the rich jumper she is wearing, and the clutch matching pretty well the color scheme. Her subtle pieces of jewellery I like. She has such wonderful work ethic, this was a great visit.

Wow - an outfit that is worthy of comment. I like the simple jewelry. Great fitting suit and complimenting sweater in lovely colors that match Sophie's complexion. Personally, I think Vince is quality designer with nice clean lines. I buy their clothes, mostly when they are on sale. Burgundy shoes would have improved the outfit.

  15. I do like Sophie's suit, she looks chique, her earrings and necklace look good. I think Sophie is the Royals secret weapon, she does not draw attention to herself; very capable woman, a good role model.(Tara)

  17. Sophie looks lovely in a well-blended outfit of colour and suit.
Small quibble, the jacket/pants, could have been altered a little at the waist line so they did not make that area look larger than it really is.

PS: People refer to this woman as the secret weapon for the Royals. Since when is it a contest, or some other oddly worded remarks, when Sophie and Edward have been in the family business, for how long now? They have been doing the same job, the same number of engagements/trips, along with raising two children (out of the public eye), and long before all the dysfunction of the 'family' came into the public arena in such a negative waterfall of information pouring out about Andrew, and the ones that now live in CA
Sophie and Edward simply went about the work they had been doing for years, they are not 'new' to the family.
