On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Queen Sofía attended the ‘From the New World’ gala concert, performed for the first time at Carnegie Hall in New York by the Reina Sofía School of Music under the direction of Andrés Orozco-Estrada. During the concert, Queen Sofía was accompanied by the Ambassador of Spain to the United States, Ángeles Moreno, and the Consul General of Spain in New York, Marta de Blas.
The concert featured more than 70 young musicians from the School, joined by 15 members of the Colombian Youth Philharmonic, in a collaboration that brought together young talents from around the world. After the performance, Queen Sofía met with Andrés Orozco-Estrada, the conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music.
Founded in 1993, the Orchestra of the Reina Sofía School of Music performs in both symphonic and chamber formats. Its principal conductor is Andrés Orozco-Estrada, while the chamber orchestra is led by Sir András Schiff.
