On November 18, 2025, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands opened the circular timber residential building SAWA in Rotterdam. The building comprises more than one hundred apartments and has been developed on a large scale using circular and biobased construction methods, with a focus on nature and affordable housing. Nearly half of the homes fall within the mid-range rental category. The concept also features shared facilities, including a vegetable garden, shared cars, and communal tools.
The design of SAWA is inspired by the terraced rice fields of Indonesia. The building has been conceived as a living ecosystem, in which biodiversity is given space. Integrated planters, native plants, and nesting boxes for birds and bats have been incorporated into the design.

Gorgeous! Love the final pic which demonstrates her sense of humour! The photos here show various colours for dress and hat, due to the lighting, but I think the first photo shows best the aubergine of the accessories and cherry red of the dress.
ReplyDeleteAgree!!!

All Royals are wearing it this season!
Paloma.
ReplyDeleteI like this tonal dressing. Maxima has fun with colors and does a good job coordinating similar but different colors. It gives what could be a plain outfit a lot of interest. The days of colors matching exactly are long gone.
ReplyDeleteAwful color matching! But a lovely smile to offset the colors.
ReplyDeleteWow, QM exudes her Argentinian roots and so much natural charisma here. A beautiful color on her and a great look on a cold outing. MR
ReplyDeleteLove, the outfit. She looks amazing. The rich burgundy color of the dress is beautiful and suits Queen Maxima beautifully. The dress looks fabulous, the design and belt, perfect. The burgundy coat is well matched, looks warm and again fits well. The boots, (looking good) the bag and gloves match in really well color wise, slight difference. This style of hat, gorgeous, suits her incredibly well, love the color a nice shade. The gold earrings, I love this sized hoops, would so love them in my jewel box. The brooch is a welcome addition and perfect for the dress.
DeleteMatronly outfit in clashing colors
ReplyDeleteI wonder, are you the same person who is using the word “matronly” here once a day? It’s not a particularly nice word, always derogatory. I wonder if you could use other words that describe your thoughts on clothes rather than just dissing the outfit?
DeleteI just ❤️ the last picture ! !
