On November 3, 2025, Dutch Queen Máxima visited The Offline Club in Amsterdam. The Offline Club is a social enterprise that focuses on fostering genuine, personal connections at a time when screens and digital distractions play an increasingly dominant role in daily life. For the occasion, Queen Máxima wore a khaki nappa leather midi dress by Massimo Dutti.

The organization was founded three years ago in Amsterdam and has since grown into an international community with activities in cities including London, Berlin, Milan, Paris, and Barcelona. During so-called “Hangouts” and “Offline Reading Parties,” participants consciously disconnect from their devices to experience calm, and human connection.

During her visit, Queen Máxima spoke with the founders and regular participants about the importance of offline social interaction and how The Offline Club encourages people to engage with digital technology more mindfully. She also attended part of a Hangout, where visitors met and took part in creative activities together.

    1. Leather for a 'schoolmeisje' ? I have no real opinion about the dress.

Leather dresses are hard to wear.

  4. I like it. The dress looks good, and she styled it well.

Not a fan of leather garments and despite a good fit and colour, I can’t say I like it, especially with the blouse under it. So matronly not becoming.

I would say that far from being matronly it looks like school uniform!

I love the look, which for me is highly becoming and not at all matronly. I don’t particularly like leather, but very much this design. I love the idea of pinafore type dresses where multiple different blouses can be worn giving multiple different looks. So imagining this same dress in a dark grey wool? - superb, practical, feminine and very neat design.

If you work as a blacksmith or shoe horses, this outfit is perfect.
    Otherwise....argh!

The fact that it is a pinafore, so not a whole dress but combined with this simple but nice shirt makes it pretty on her. I'd never wear one - but she looks (as) good in it (as it is possible to look good in a somewhat naturally stiff garment).

I definitely would wear it - but not in leather. Very flattering!

I am a huge fan of leather. I always like seeing it being used in different styles. I feel the same way about this dress as I feel about Sophie's similar leather sleeveless dress. I love both dresses sleeveless, not with a blouse or sweater underneath. This reminds me of a school uniform. I would rather she had chosen a dress with sleeves if she isn't comfortable wearing it sleeveless. I like the color and the shoes, and the silhouette is very flattering.

Fashion is SO funny - because my opinions are completely opposite to your! I don’t like the dress colour, but I love the style. I don’t think it would look good sleeveless, but I love it worn with a long white shirt. I find the shoes way too high so they distort the leg and would love to see tall Maxima in beautiful flats. And I really dislike leather clothes and would love this in any other material. See? - the complete opposite of your opinions - and that’s what makes it so interesting! All the best!

Leather, trying to hard to look 'cool. Stringy hair and a school girl white blouse, everything is out of place.

@Anon 02:13, "trying to look cool": what a nasty comment, tells more about you than about Máxima. Maybe you need categories like "looking cool", Máxima does not - she has a lot of better qualities than that.

Love this styling - except that I don’t like leather in clothes. Hope many more are on the market, but much prefer in other winter materials.

  11. Désolée mais cette robe en cuir n'avantage pas du tout Maxima surtout qu'elle la porte sans manches sur un chemisier ; je n'ai jamais aimé ce style de robe !

  12. I don't mind the way the dress is styled, but the leather dress in this instance, isn't appealing to me.

02.13 - totally agree. Looks like my `old` school uniform which wasn`t cool in the 1960`s! I suppose it is her idea of blending in but still standing out.

@Anon 10:30, why do you think there is a need or she feels a need to blend in, what for?

I am very disappointed - appalled and slightly disgusted - by how many commenters talk about Máxima's person/personality/character/motivations - and all that in a very negative way. Look inside yourself, what makes you be and think like this about other women or other humans you don't know?

The white blouse softens the look of the leather so I think it's a good combination. Seems like Maxima could have chosen a more casual outfit for this occasion.
