Princess Madeleine is in New York to attend the 2025 benefit gala of the World Childhood Foundation USA. On November 6, 2025, Princess Madeleine attended the high-level meeting ‘Leaving No One Behind: Ensuring Sustainable Action to End Violence Against Children’ at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The meeting was co-organized by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children.

Its always a bonus to see the Princess. Her jacket from what I can see looks interesting.
ReplyDeletePrincess Madeleine looks stunning - a very professional, chic look from what we see. Her hair looks great - not too long, just a charming length, pretty and shiny.
ReplyDeleteHer hair is as long as usual.
DeleteLovely. MR
ReplyDeleteLovely autumnal color on the jacket and looks like a white shirt with coordinating olive green stripes underneath. Perfect for a meeting at the UN.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore la couleur kaki de cette veste portée avec un pantalon ?!
ReplyDeleteWhich qualifications she has on this subject?
ReplyDeleteThis is always a valid question, and if we start looking at what qualifications high-ranking decision-making people have, the answer is often: none. That applies to Madeleine as well, but I´ll give her that she has experience and contacts. Most of all though, her involvement brings attention to the cause, and that alone is something.
DeleteWhen it comes to violence against children, the world has A LOT of work to do. It´s one of the nastiest problems to deal with, and we´re only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately, the problem involves the highest elites which is why there is little interest in solving it. I therefore view this kind of UN conference and fundraising gala as mostly words (and PR) and little action. Still, anyone lending their voice to address crimes against children does something good. Queen Silvia in particular has done some great work fighting child trafficking and abuse, and Madeleine is carrying on that work through their World Childhood Foundation.
She is a mother 1st and foremost and she has worked along side of her mother for years often representing her charity here in the USA when a resident. And lastly I am sure she cares and I worry about children getting fed in the USA with Trump giving billionaires another huge tax cut. It is sad the food stamp are cut off as well. For fashion she looks beautiful with her autumn colors!
DeleteThank you Vanessa!
DeleteShe isn’t attending strictly as a specialised, highly qualified expert. As we know, getting Hugh profile people involved with causes like this can have remarkable benefits. Madeleine and Queen Silvia have been successfully involved with children causes for many years. Their own experiences are very valuable. Only to be applauded.
DeleteSartorially speaking, she inherited Silvia’s innate style and this is another example.

Fitzhugh, it breaks my heart to read what you’ve said about food stamps being cut. How is this leadership, to not care for the most needy in the society you are elected to care for. It’s not political my comment, it’s heartbreak.
DeleteMaybe we can start by asking what qualifications does one need for this subject? ;-)
DeleteI agree with most of Vanessa's comment/reply.
Madeleine is the deputy honorary chair. So as i understand it mostly a symbolic position. Which is a perfect role for someone to bring in the media attention and to open those doors that would otherwise take a lot more time and effort. The work they do is good, and they can bring together people from different branches and create a platform for better cooperation. She has also been involved with Childhood since 2006, so I guess she knows the foundation and their goals through and through.
She's not there on her own either, she's probably part of a delegation (in which she off course will get most if not all of the media coverage).
Madeleine also went to university and once was a trainee at Unicef, so it's not like she's not qualified to do anything :-)
@ Vanessa.
DeleteWell said.
@15:49
I join your heartbreak, perfectly stated.
That's how I feel, too.
Unfortunately, needy childreare a global issues.
This is one of those few things that truly brings tears to my eyes.
Hungry faces and eyes are a failure for the whole society and a knife that should be cutting individual consciences over and over.
Belle Princesse Madeleine, avec une très belle chevelure.
ReplyDeleteUn plaisir de la revoir.
-Astrid.
Always nice to see Pr M and her commitment!
