On the first Sunday of Advent 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary shared a post featuring a photo of them lighting a candle on a beautifully decorated wreath adorned with red candles. Happy First Sunday of Advent, they wrote in the post. Queen Mary lit the first candle on the Advent wreath at the Royal Palace.
This year, the King and Queen and their four children will celebrate Christmas at Amalienborg Palace together with Queen Margrethe. The Royal House of Denmark also announced that on Christmas Eve, the family will attend the Christmas service at the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen.
