Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq of Oman is undertaking a State Visit to Spain. On the evening of November 4, 2025, King Felipe and Queen Letizia hosted a State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Madrid in honor of Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, on the occasion of his visit. For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a blue gown by The 2nd Skin Co.
Upon his arrival at the Royal Palace, the Sultan was received by the King and Queen in the Teniers Hall. Afterwards, in the Throne Room, the King, Queen and the Sultan greeted the guests invited to the banquet, including prominent figures from the institutional, and cultural spheres of both countries. The dinner took place in the Dining Room.
Queen Letizia wore Queen María Cristina’s Loop Tiara and Queen Victoria Eugenie’s Diamond Earrings, along with the Collar of the Order of Oman. The Cartier Loop Tiara has been part of the Spanish royal family’s collection since the late 19th century. The tiara features striking diamond loops adorned with several pearls.
Wow they all look fabulous. The sultans headdress and rove are very regal. The king of course tip top and the queen in a dress that balances her crown.
ردحذفI agree with you but the problem with white version is that it looks too "wedding." I think that might be why she choose the blue.
حذفIt pains me to say it, but I have never been wild about this dress. I was trying figure out why, and I comes down to the sleeves. I don't like the volume in the sleeves, which makes the gown look less formal to me, and I really don't like the bows. I do like the white version on the model better. I also noticed that Letizia has a different belt than the model. I think a buckle belt is more casual than the thinner belt the model is wearing. Her hair styled this way does help balance out the size of the tiara and the dress, though I don't like her as much as when curled like this. She wears blue as well as she wears red, and the blue gown is a very nice compliment to the Collar of the Order of Oman.
ردحذفI am not fan of the hair styling either. The dress is fine for me, however it would be just as good without the ruffles on the sleeves.
حذفWhen I read she is "petite" I can only disagree. She is average size, some pictures here with show it (n°4 and others, guests standing around the table). I just found a pic where she stands with Qn Silvia, Letizia is definitely taller, Silvia is petite. (The link to the picture is too long to be copied here.).
The comparison with Queen Silvia is not good. Queen Silvia is a lady in her 80s, Queen Letizia isn't. We all know that with age people especially ladies have often a shorter length than when they were younger.
حذف@MaryT I agree with you about Letizia's size. I think the definition of "petite" is not understood. Petite refers to height (5' 4" or 162 cm). Letizia is of average height and has a small frame.
حذفMaryT, petite has the double meaning of smaller in height or smaller in body (because it’s an international group here, so many will take it literally from the French as opposed to American women’s clothes sizing). Letizia is the latter, very very fine at the moment.

ردحذفI really like Queen Letizia's wavy hair with the Cartier Loop tiara. While I love the dark blue color of her gown, I'm not a fan of the style. I also found it surprising she chose a repeat gown for tonight's banquet. We recently saw this dress last year when the King and Queen undertook a state visit to the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I don’t think I like Letizia’s hair styled this way with a tiara as much as her sleeker looks. (The style reminds me of Catherine’s hairstyle at the recent UK state dinner; I liked it much better on her.). The curls look a bit too tight, and the shape of her hair viewed from the right side looks surprisingly aging. It looks better viewed from the left side. This tiara is very large and must be challenging to wear, especially given how petite she is, but the tiara looks like it’s tipped back too far on her head. The collar of the Order of Oman also looks quite challenging to wear. Overall, Letizia is well-groomed, as always, but this isn’t one of my favorite looks on her.

ردحذفThe heavy Omani (?) honour chain/medal plus dress style are lending a very medieval look to Letizia here (I’m almost expecting a heavy set of old keys on her waist belt).. Contrast this week’s photos to the previous photo of her with the much gentler yellow sash. Her hair is beautiful but I’m on the “hair up for tiara” camp for best effect. Although I generally adore every look Letizia brings us, here I think this dress design is too voluminous for her.
ردحذفI thought myself immediately at a medieval queen, but I like this look on her. I also like her hair (something else than usual), the tiara and the earrings. With the Oman, I think honour chain and medal, it looks even more a dress from the middle ages. The wide skirt is beautiful. In white version it could be worn as a bridal gown. The only detail which I don't like with this dress is the up-to-date belt. It is a big style error. Worn with her hair in an updo and the yellow sash the dress is beautiful too but less spectacular.

ردحذفThe colour and fabric is so rich looking with that perfect sheen, and the way the full skirt flows from the waist is lush and luxurious. Nice to see her hair in this wavy style which we don't often see. I'm not a big fan of big tiaras, but she wears this beautiful Cartier loop tiara very well. Her loose open hair plays it down a bit for the occasion in a good way.

ردحذفI loved this blue gown, the first time Letizia wore it. The hair at that time was up style and I feel it looked better than on this occasion. Love the color of the gown, gorgeous shade of blue. The tiara looks to be a bit too oversized for the Queen. The diamond earrings are stunning.

حذفOn her right side I see the prime minister of Spain, who is not a stranger to her. Besides as a queen it is not the first time she has to speak to men from a foreign country. When the Sultan of Oman came on state visit to Belgium last year he didn't had a wife with him either, because in Oman it is the custom that spouses are not coming together with their husband. Queen Mathilde has no problems to speak to her guests men or women and the Sultan seems to be a friendly and charming person. I think Queen Letizia knows perfectly too how to manage the situation.
I absolutely love this outfit. The full skirt balances the order perfectly and the hairstyle is so good with such a large tiara. For me the queen looks fabulous.

ردحذفThe 80ies called and offered to borrow this dress to Letizia, because it really does not go with her normal style. My scalp is aching jut looking at these pictures, but a tiara like that has to be shown every now and then! The Sultan is the best dressed here.

ردحذفI don´t like the tiara worn this way, tilted backwards as a hairband. The gorgeous tiara was made to sit more upright on the updoes of its time to show off all its glory face on.
The Total picture is not balanced: The dress is much tissu, the hair is much curls and the Crown is much diamonds.

ردحذفI am very surprised about the bad critics concerning Queen Letizia's hair. On pic. N°2 one can clearly see the length of her hair on the back. I'd noticed already that her hair had grown a lot lately, but here it looks even longer. Maybe because of the curls or did she add a coupe of extensions which I find very normal. When commenters dare to say that Princess Catherine's hair is too long, the majority are screaming the contrary. I have the impression that for once Queen Letizia's hair is curly and long, there is a category of people who cannot stand that the Princess of Wales is no longer the only one with long beautiful hair.

ردحذفThat collar (which would be the correct terminology for the chain of an order) is massive on the back of Queen Letizia. I agree with those saying that the dress might give 1980's vibes, but also there is a slight comeback of that era's fashion, nonetheless. The colour is great, no matter the style. The Cartier Loop Tiara is always nice to look at, and the Spanish royals do not bust out their great jewels that often, so I am just happy that they now did. All else is secondary to me.

This is too much. The Tiara/crown is such an amazing piece of jewlery that everything else seems too busy. The dress just overwhelems Letizia - I think it's the 3/4 length full sleeve with the bow that just makes this too much for her. Honestly she looks like a little girl paying dress up and it's not a flattering look.

The tiara is so wide that she needs some hair on both sides of her head and face. So there is an explanation for all those waves, but even then, this is simply not her best hairstyle. She does not need to be made look younger or softer, either - which waves do not provide anyway. Her face is neither older than she is nor hard and it does not have to be made look different, IMHO. - I cannot love the dress either but understand that she has to have volume in the skirt for the tiara on her head. Oh my. Couldn't she just carry a velvet pillow with that tiara on it? I'd vote for that.

The hair is not good--sorry but I don't think it's very flattering for Queen Letizia and it's really not working for that huge tiara. Speaking of the tiara--wearing it back on her head like a headband is not a good look for such a regal tiara. Sorry but this look comes off way too princess-ey, way too Princess Bride for a Queen like Letizia.
