British Royal Family Attends the 2025 Festival of Remembrance

Queen Camilla, the Princess of Wales, Prince George, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duchess of Gloucester

On November 8, 2025, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, the Princess of Wales, Prince George, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester attended the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This marked Prince George’s first attendance at the Festival. Among the artists performing at the evening event were Sir Rod Stewart, Sam Ryder, and Keala Settle.

The annual Festival honours the service and sacrifice of British and Commonwealth Armed Forces personnel, past and present. This year’s event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who fought and lost their lives. Those lost in more recent conflicts were also remembered.

It is nice to see them gradually taking Prince George to functions. Letting him see what they do in the evening without overwhelming him.

There are functions and their are functions. This event did not start until 21.00 and went on for several hours. I have serious doubts about letting any child of 12 stay out that late, let alone one in the public eye. It is time the British Royal Family learned to keep their children out of the public eye until they are at least 18 and let them group up and find themselves in piece.

Anon 11:54 What are you on about? You are bothered by the fact that a 12-year-old boy was out past YOUR bedtime, on a WEEKEND? Having brought up my own children, I can assure you that he survived the evening. One thing that I respect William and Catherine for is how well protected their children have been. They will always need to appear in public for certain occasions, but have been kept back from the majority because of their ages. I don't know how you think they can be successfully sheltered until they are 18. Nor can I see how it would benefit them when they will have a public life due to their birthright. Easing them into their future roles in small, safe, and age appropriate ways is completely reasonable.

It’s a no from me re Catherine’s dress. It is reminiscent of the Quaker collar. She just doesn’t suit the V or open neck design. A boatneck/round/lace roller collar would be better suited to her frame. Also not a fan of her hair. It’s looking limp and without style.
Sophie I think we’ve seen her wear this previously.its one of the few dresses Sophie has that looks flattering on her. Or at least it doesn’t swamp her.
Camilla stuck to her usual tried and tested dropvwaist dress. Though the black sequinned dots certainly elevates the look.
DoG As always her choice looks like her outfit has been properly thoughtout. She looks super elegant.
Lovely to see Prince George there. What an experience it must have been for him.

@Anon 9:01 You seem to be lacking in facts. "Quakerism started in England in the second half of the 17 th century..."

      https://www.quaker.org.uk/faith/our-history
      https://www.friendsacademy.org/blog/a-brief-history-of-quakerism

There are surviving examples of Quaker clothing in British museums, including the "collar". I will provide the references if you would like.

Quakers emigrated to America (from England) in the mid-1600s in pursuit of religious freedom. There are still Quakers in England today, and indeed worldwide, though their style of dress has evolved over the centuries, as style does.

It is sad to see your snarky comments, both here and below. Aside from being inaccurate, you have failed to take into account the point of view from a person residing in (who you believe to be) another country. We typically make references to what we know. In this case, Lowri made a visual reference that is familiar to her. Anon 9:13 did the same thing. Your comment below says, "nobody in this Continent see the collar in that way". (Actually you do, on Catherine.) People making observations based on their historical knowledge, in this case collars, does not mean they are still being worn in modern times. It is just a visual reference, nothing more. It also appears that Lowri and Anon 9:13 are more historically knowledgeable than you are in this case.

1153, her hair is not perfect you can see all the broken ends in the back. I still say she has a hairpiece at the back crown that blends in her own hair. If you look at her hair in her 20’s it is way more full now and texture is different, the natural bounce and volume is there. Nothing wrong with her choice just not becoming a tad too long.

      حذف
    9. غير معرف9/11/25 19:27

anon 17:11 Where do you see split ends? I cannot see any at all. If you know of a picture showing Kate with split ends, will you please provide the link? I absolutely do not agree with you about her wearing a hair piece. Hair changes as we age. Color, texture and thickness are effected by hormones, the environment, medications, etc. Hair can appear fuller or straighter because of products and styling. It is very simple when you know how to do it. It does not mean there is any artificial hair added.

Pity some people here make random comments lacking any historic and factual knowledge (elsewhere I noticed a lack of literary knowledge as well).

Of course George can be a role model. Children are good role models by being well mannered, getting good grades, and doing kindnesses for others. Not all children are willingly helpful or focused on their studies. We all have seen obnoxious children who have little to no respect for their elders. I have not seen any bad traits from George publicly, which is enough to set a fine example for his peers. He appears to have had a solid foundation in his childhood which is needed to become a fine adult.

Why is a reminiscence of the 1980 a bad thing in one case and a good thing in another? Once it is beautiful vintage, once it is old-fashioned, once it is Diana ... all this says something about the preferences and/or prejudices of the person who writes it, but nothing about how the person wearing the outfit looks in it. Each and every style and fashion has been there and worn once or repeatedly, so what? "Reminds me of Quakers" - so what, is it bad because you have negative associations?

Camilla's age is clearly visible, but she has good hair colour and fitting hairdo and wears one of her best accessories: authentic smile. I often think: Photographers seem to like her, just because she does not ignore them, instead she smiles her really warm smile, which makes their job easier and worthwhile at the same time. I am exactly her age and I symphatise with her - the competition with all the same-aged and operated-on Kris Jenners is so huge.

Love her hair, soft and natural looking, I love this style on her.

I (almost) always love Alexandra Rich on Catherine. Her design may remind some commenters of pilgrims of quakers, but the style of which it is reminiscent of is simply very romantic and feminine and both features are not limited to pilgrims or quakers or a certain period of time - that would be pity because it fits many women beautifully. We cannot see much on the photos but I looked up the outfit, the top has a peplum which is always lovely on her anyway. - The uchess of Glo as always: tastefully an impeccably elegant. Sophie: she can wear black simplicity well, better than what she loves to wear. I would prefer her hair in a simple bun, because if she could not manage a hairstylist, no problem, but then it would be better not to let it hang down like this for this occasion. I mean, I never insist on perpetual hairstyling for royal women, just letting it hang down would be good enough for any daytime occasion - but not for Remembrance Day in Albert Hall. I love her funny and georgeous clutch.

Camilla est très bien, les pastilles en paillettes sont originales et festives.
Kate ressemble à une soubrette de 1920. Quelle idée saugrenue ce rajout de napperons en dentelles à l'encolure, c'est très ringard.

Diana references are suggesting she draws on her for inspiration, when fashion goes around in cycles, and there is no reason to draw a connection between the two. I find it sad that Catherine can’t be credited for for her choice without reference.

    5. غير معرف9/11/25 23:38

Diana was the most photographed woman in the world for a long time. Her style is very well known to this day. I don't know that Catherine is trying to emulate Diana with her sartorial choices as much as 80s fashion has cycled back and Diana is strongly associated with it. Seeing the current Princess of Wales wearing a dress that could have come straight from the former Princess of Wales' closet will elicit comparisons every time. It has happened before when Catherine was in dresses with an 80s vibe and will happen every time she has a fashion throwback. I would expect the same types of comments if we saw another royal wearing a dress with a center zip and drop waist. It would immediately remind us of Camilla, but in no way would it mean we would compare the two women.

This seems like it was a good opportunity to continue introducing him in a relatively non-threatening way to attending important events - seated in a controlled environment surrounded by close adult family members and next to his mother. Well done to him.

I don’t love Catherine’s dress. The white collar looks dated and a bit twee - but it does provide a good contrasting backdrop for her poppy.

The Duchess of Gloucester looks fantastic. Beautiful skirt and jewelry.
